Quick Summary
About VOARVUE Media
VOARVUE Media is the in-house media production and marketing team for independent yacht brokers, brokerages, and charter companies. We help our clients achieve the established and professional presence of leading names in yachting. We are expanding our full-service marketing capabilities, with web design and development being a crucial component.
About the Role
We are hiring a contract Web Designer & Developer to build and maintain websites for both our clients and VOARVUE Media. This is an ongoing contract role, not a single project, requiring a reliable professional available as work arises, starting immediately.
Your work will encompass two primary areas:
- Client websites — primarily WordPress builds and redesigns for yacht brokerages and charter companies
- VOARVUE's own website (voarvue.com) — ongoing updates, improvements, and maintenance
What You'll Do
- Design and build clean, fast, mobile-first websites, primarily using WordPress.
- Manage projects from concept/wireframe through to a fully built, functioning site.
- Maintain and update VOARVUE's website as the business evolves.
- Collaborate directly with the founder to understand project goals and translate them into custom, functional websites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on existing websites as needed.
- Design visually compelling and user-friendly websites using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch, ensuring a seamless user experience across devices.
- Develop responsive web pages utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, Bootstrap, and other front-end frameworks to deliver fast-loading, accessible websites.
- Create prototypes and wireframes to visualize concepts and facilitate stakeholder feedback using tools such as InVision, Balsamiq, Axure, or Figma.
- Implement web accessibility standards (WCAG) and usability best practices to ensure inclusive digital experiences.
- Optimize websites for SEO performance by integrating analytics tools like Google Analytics 360 and Adobe Analytics to monitor traffic and engagement metrics.
- Maintain existing websites through content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, SharePoint, or custom PHP/MySQL solutions; perform regular website updates and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to refine layout design, typography, interaction design, motion graphics, and visual UI/UX elements that enhance user engagement.
- Write clean code adhering to best practices in front-end development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+), version control (Git), and web production workflows.
- Conduct user research and data analysis to inform design decisions and improve overall website usability and performance.
- Support digital marketing efforts by integrating email marketing tools like Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor into website platforms.
