About the Job
The Web Designer is responsible for the design and front-end development of OpenSesame's website and associated digital experiences. You will design, build, and maintain engaging web pages that align with our brand identity and support growth-driving marketing campaigns. This role focuses on optimizing the visitor and customer experience through UI/UX strategy and ongoing design and development projects.

As a vital member of the Marketing team, the Web Designer will lead the design, development, and continuous evolution of OpenSesame.com. Our website serves as the primary gateway to our business, and this role ensures every interaction embodies our brand promise of innovation, clarity, and quality.
About the Job
The Web Designer will manage the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of OpenSesame's website and related digital experiences. You will be accountable for both the creative and technical execution of our web presence, encompassing the design, coding, testing, and maintenance of pages that represent our brand and support marketing initiatives.
This position integrates visual design, front-end development, and user experience expertise. The ideal candidate brings strong creative instincts, technical proficiency, and a data-informed approach—someone capable of translating business needs into compelling, functional web experiences that drive engagement and conversion.
Performance Objectives
30 Days
- Complete OpenSesame onboarding and gain a thorough understanding of our brand, design systems, and website infrastructure.
- Audit the current website to identify opportunities for visual, functional, and performance enhancements.
- Assume ownership of the OpenSesame.com WordPress or Webflow environment and achieve full proficiency in managing site content, templates, and code.
- Deliver your first design and development update, such as improving navigation, updating a layout, or enhancing mobile responsiveness.
- Define and document the process for submitting, prioritizing, and fulfilling Marketing web requests.
60 Days
- Design and build at least one new marketing landing page or microsite from concept to deployment.
- Create reusable templates and components to boost design efficiency and visual consistency across web properties.
- Implement design and code updates to improve accessibility, responsiveness, and overall site performance.
- Introduce analytics and testing frameworks (e.g., GA4, Hotjar, A/B testing) for collecting and interpreting user data to inform design decisions.
- Launch measurable site improvements, such as reducing load times, enhancing accessibility scores, or increasing engagement on key pages.
90 Days
- Lead a comprehensive redesign or refresh of a critical section of OpenSesame.com, enhancing both visual design and user experience.
- Establish a design system and front-end standards documentation to ensure consistency and scalability for future projects.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for ongoing site optimization aligned with Marketing campaigns and business objectives.
- Analyze performance metrics to assess the impact of design and development changes, presenting findings and recommendations to the Marketing team.
- Build a sustainable process for independent testing, iteration, and deployment of updates while upholding high standards of quality and brand alignment.

Location: This position is open to candidates anywhere in the US. We operate as a remote-first company and conduct all-company meetings several times a year.
Performance Driven: We seek self-starters with a proven record of delivering excellent results. We are highly selective in our hiring process and focus on specific examples from past experiences rather than typical job requirements. All positions are US-based and may require up to 15 days of travel annually, with senior management and leadership teams potentially requiring up to 35 days.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is generally between $130,000 - $145,000 per year, dependent on experience. OpenSesame provides a comprehensive benefits package upon hire, including professional development, ISOs, health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. Compensation is determined by carefully considering market data, specific job family, background, skills, and experience.
