Meet the Team

The Splunk Role & Domain Excellence team, part of Global Field Enablement, specializes in designing and delivering expert-led, learner-focused global enablement programs. We develop role-specific learning journeys and industry-focused development for internal teams and partners, including sellers, technical sellers, renewals representatives, and partner sellers. Our responsibilities include shaping enablement strategy, managing global onboarding and ongoing development, building industry vertical programs, and overseeing Splunk competencies and assessments to identify strengths and inform future enablement efforts.

Your Impact: Global Splunk Platform Enablement Lead

As the Global Splunk Platform Enablement Lead, you will significantly enhance the knowledge and expertise of our field sellers by developing and delivering critical Splunk Platform enablement experiences. This strategic role focuses on driving effective use case adoption, supporting revenue teams, and ensuring customer success with Splunk’s core capabilities in big data analytics, AI, and data management. Join us to lead global enablement efforts, promote continuous learning, and build deep Splunk Platform expertise across all field teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategize & Innovate: Develop and execute the comprehensive Splunk Platform enablement strategy for our global field (Sales, Technical Sales, Partner, Digital Sales, and Renewals). Collaborate closely with Security and Observability Enablement leads and cross-functional subject matter experts.
  • Drive Adoption & Success: Identify and remove barriers to successful Splunk Platform selling. Implement programs that solidify foundational understanding of Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud Platform, AI, Data Management & Federation, and Edge Hub, ensuring seamless integration with Security and Observability solutions.
  • Content Collaboration: Partner with internal market strategists, Sales, Solution Engineering, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Product and Engineering, Customer Success, and Competitive Intelligence to contribute high-impact Splunk Platform content for key events and activities.
  • Measure & Optimize: Continuously refine and improve enablement results by evaluating leading and lagging indicators to ensure maximum program effectiveness.
  • Advocate & Influence: Advise on global and theater-based programs to enhance Splunk Platform offerings, serving as a passionate advocate for the critical skills and expertise required in the field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in a customer-facing or enablement role within enterprise or SaaS software environments (e.g., sales, technical sales, solutions engineering, customer success).
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Splunk Platform and its application across all Splunk solutions.
  • Proven understanding of industry and competitive trends within the Security & Observability market, including market dynamics, emerging technologies, and competitor strategies in AI, Data Management, and Federation.
  • Ability to articulate the value of the Splunk Platform to diverse audiences, ranging from highly technical experts to non-technical business leaders at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Splunk Platform and its application across all Splunk solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building training programs, enablement materials, and curriculum development.
  • Experience selling to engineering/software development teams, with knowledge of current programming languages including Java, Python, PHP, .NET, Ruby, Node.js, Go, etc.
  • Desire to enable others with domain and solution sales/technical knowledge of the Splunk Platform.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary range: $165,000 – $208,000. The projected starting salary range for new hires in U.S. and/or Canada locations is $165,000.00 to $208,000.00, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits.

Specific salary ranges by location:

  • New York City Metro Area: $180,400.00 - $261,400.00
  • Non-Metro New York state & Washington state: $170,000.00 - $246,300.00

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible for grants of Cisco restricted stock units.

U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away, including:

  • 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees.
  • 1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco.
  • Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year.
  • Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program (no defined limit, subject to availability/business limitations).
  • 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, with up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward.
  • Additional paid time away may be requested for critical or emergency family issues.
  • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer.

For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, compensation is uncapped once performance exceeds 100% attainment.
