Elevate our content platform and its underlying systems to an automated, AI-native state. Your focus will span Headless WordPress development, AI agents, workflow automation, performance marketing, and SEO/GEO strategies.

Leverage a robust toolset including PHP, Next.js/TypeScript, n8n, Qdrant, Ubuntu VPS, GitHub Actions, Matomo, Twenty CRM, and modern AI tools. Your mission is to transform existing infrastructure into a platform that automatically generates reach for both human audiences and AI systems. You will work closely with the Head of Communication, benefiting from short decision paths and technical autonomy.

Success in this role demands versatility across multiple technology stacks and a proactive approach to technical implementation, from concept to live operations.

Who We Are

The Institutional Investment Group (2IG) is a premier independent investment platform specializing in real estate and real assets across Germany and Europe. With approximately 350 employees, 2IG manages over EUR 50 billion in assets across 25+ countries.

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to independently maintain, enhance, and expand our technical infrastructure. This role is crucial for developing and marketing a neutral B2B content platform, aiming to establish it as the leading industry resource for Real Assets in Europe.

Your Role

You will assume ownership of an established and productive technical infrastructure, driving its continued development with significant responsibility. Working closely with the Head of Communication, you will serve as the domain expert for your area.

Your key strength lies in bridging business requirements with technical implementation. You will independently translate business needs into sustainable technical solutions, thinking holistically across interconnected systems.

AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot are integrated into our daily workflow, supporting your efforts without replacing the need for solid technical understanding.

Your Responsibilities and Opportunities

Headless WordPress Platform

This is the most complex project in our stack, featuring a PHP backend and a Next.js/TypeScript frontend, deployed to Ubuntu VPS via GitHub Actions.

• Develop and maintain the content platform (frontend and backend).
• Own the entire deployment workflow, from local development through staging to production, including ongoing post-launch adjustments.
• Select, implement, and adapt WordPress plugins and existing features.
• Maintain our additional WordPress websites.
• Ensure quality, performance, and security across all websites.
• Collaborate with our graphic designer and communications team.

AI Agent Content Platform

• Further develop our AI agent, built with Claude Code and based on a RAG architecture (Qdrant).
• Maintain various tool integrations, webhooks, and APIs hosted via n8n.
• Demonstrate a solid technical understanding of embeddings, vector search, and tool orchestration, beyond basic prompt engineering.

n8n Automations

• Operate and expand numerous workflows, from simple trigger-action chains to business-critical processes (including the AI agent and automated processing of press information from email to WordPress).
• Confidently work with branching logic, error handling, and chained API calls.

Twenty CRM (Self-Hosted)

• Manage the complete self-hosted VPS deployment, including database relationships, APIs, and webhooks.
• Support data maintenance and audience building for mailing campaigns.

Performance Marketing & Automation

• Design and implement fully or partially automated marketing campaigns (e.g., email and social media marketing).
• Develop automated SEO and LLMO strategies.
• Continuously analyze and optimize campaigns based on defined KPIs.
• Extend Matomo tracking and connect it with user databases and media channels like LinkedIn to build a comprehensive customer data hub.
• Evaluate and integrate suitable marketing automation tools, creating relevant reporting.

SEO & GEO – Automated Execution

Our content platform aims for discovery by traditional search engines and AI-powered answer systems as a trusted source of Real Asset expertise.

• Design and technically implement the SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy.
• Build automated workflows for on-page optimization, including structured data, Schema.org markup, metadata, internal linking, sitemaps, and rendering/crawling optimization for the Next.js frontend.
• Prepare content for optimal consumption by LLMs and AI search systems (e.g., chunk-friendly structures, entity clarity, source transparency, llms.txt, and AI crawler access management).
• Establish automated visibility monitoring for traditional rankings and mentions/citations in AI-generated answers, including reporting to business stakeholders.

Your Profile

Must-Have Qualifications

• Approximately 2-3 years of practical professional experience (mid-level) in web development.
• PHP: Backend development, especially within headless WordPress environments.
• JavaScript / TypeScript: Frontend development, including Next.js.
• Solid WordPress expertise (themes, plugins, hooks, APIs, custom post types).
• Server and infrastructure fundamentals, including Ubuntu VPS, deployment workflows, and DNS.
• Basic Git and CI/CD knowledge (GitHub Actions): maintaining and working with existing pipelines; deep DevOps expertise is not required, but understanding how things work is.
• Versatility over specialization: ability to work across multiple technology stacks simultaneously without requiring deep specialization in a single area.
• Excellent English communication skills (German is a strong advantage).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a comparable qualification (practical ability is key).
• Previous experience with vector databases and RAG architectures.
• Python (currently used for smaller automation tasks).
• Strong understanding of UI/UX and attention to design details.
• Experience with performance marketing, marketing automation tools (CRM, CDH, email marketing), and data analytics.
• Interest in financial topics.

What This Role Is Not

We are explicitly not seeking someone with deep specialization in a single stack only.

If you do not enjoy working flexibly across PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, server administration, automation, and AI integration, this role is unlikely to be the right fit. The essence of this position is confidently operating across multiple domains.
