Web Designer and Developer
SBDigital is seeking a Web Designer and Developer to join their team, focusing on creating visually compelling, high-performing websites and landing pages for progressive causes. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with WordPress (especially Elementor), a strong sense of modern web design, and the ability to translate creative concepts into functional, responsive websites. Graphic design and motion graphic project participation is a plus.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and build WordPress websites and landing pages using Elementor, custom themes, and plugins.
- Collaborate with digital strategists and designers to create visually compelling, responsive websites that meet client goals.
- Maintain and update client websites, ensuring security, performance, and accessibility best practices.
- Integrate APIs and third-party tools, including Action Network, NGP, and other platforms, to support digital campaigns and fundraising initiatives.
- Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, including plugin conflicts, layout bugs, or performance issues.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance user experience, site interactivity, and design consistency.
- Stay current on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in front-end design, WordPress development, and digital campaigns.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience with WordPress (including custom post types, theme customization, and plugin management).
- Advanced knowledge of Elementor or a similar CMS and its capabilities for creating dynamic, responsive pages.
- Proficiency in front-end languages including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and familiarity with PHP.
- Experience with API and webhook integrations, particularly Action Network and NGP.
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and ability to translate creative concepts into user-friendly interfaces.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and web performance optimization, particularly with Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools is a strong plus.
- Basic familiarity with Figma or Canva for design mockups and collaboration is helpful.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Passion for progressive causes and familiarity with digital campaigns or nonprofit work is a bonus.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: $55,000 – $60,000, commensurate with experience.
