Responsibilities

• Design and develop visually appealing websites using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and WordPress to create wireframes, prototypes, and final layouts.
• Implement responsive web designs.
• Collaborate with UX researchers and content strategists to enhance usability and ensure websites meet user needs through user research and usability testing.
• Develop engaging interaction designs and motion graphics to improve user engagement and experience.
• Optimize websites for search engines (SEO) by applying best practices in content structure, metadata, and accessibility standards to boost visibility.
• Maintain and update existing websites using content management systems such as WordPress, ensuring they remain current, secure, and functional.
• Conduct website maintenance tasks including troubleshooting issues, updating plugins or scripts (JavaScript, PHP), and implementing new features based on user feedback or analytics insights.
• Utilize web analytics tools like Google Analytics 360 or Adobe Analytics to analyze user behavior data and inform design improvements.
• Ensure web accessibility standards are met by adhering to WCAG guidelines for inclusive design.
• Collaborate with developers on front-end development tasks involving JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React) or server-side languages like PHP or Python to bring designs to life.
• Document design processes, create style guides, and maintain version control using Git or similar tools for efficient collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in digital design with a strong portfolio showcasing website projects emphasizing visual design, layout design, and typography.
• Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, WordPress, Adobe XD, and Adobe After Effects for motion graphics.
• Solid understanding of web development fundamentals and WordPress layouts and frameworks.
• Experience working with content management systems like WordPress for website management and updates.
• Familiarity with SEO strategies and web analytics tools.
• Basic knowledge of web server technologies such as MySQL databases or SQL queries; familiarity with PHP or Python scripting is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
