Job Description: VoIP Engineer II

The VoIP Engineer II plays a fundamental role in tailoring our phone systems to meet business needs. This position involves designing, administering, maintaining, and supporting the availability, performance, and security of network systems. These systems include routers, firewalls, switches, session border controllers, ATAs, PBX platforms, circuits, SIP Trunks, E911, Dial Planning, route patterns, handset devices, and servers. Strong knowledge of security, switching, and routing technologies is essential.

As a VoIP Engineer II, you will collaborate closely with clients and other Pavlov Media divisions to provide VoIP solutions that align with company needs, business goals, and budget. An ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of VoIP and Networking technologies, experience with our systems, and the ability to prioritize tasks based on business requirements. This role includes fieldwork, customer engagement, some travel, and has the possibility of being a hybrid or remote position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide VoIP support to existing clients and internal teams.
  • Set up and configure new PBX clients.
  • Perform onsite installation of VoIP systems at client offices and provide usage training.
  • Monitor the PBX platform for issues and troubleshoot via SIP trace analysis.
  • Collaborate with other business units to research new products for clients.
  • Create and maintain processes and procedures for the team.
  • Provide support and training, and handle escalations from VoIP Engineer I’s.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.A. recommended or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of VoIP systems and SIP traces.
  • Working knowledge of Networking systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • 3 years of experience as a VoIP Engineer or equivalent.
  • Adept Wireshark and packet analysis skills.
  • Company-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more technologies or systems.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 5 years or more in VoIP technology positions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Visio.
  • Scripting experience (Python, PHP, Powershell).
  • Time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to easily adapt to changes in process, procedures, and priority.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation:

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is: $90,000 - $100,000.

Actual base pay will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Pavlov Media is committed to complying with the Equal Pay Act and emphasizes internal equity in compensation. Final pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and alignment with internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency. The salary banding for this role also allows for growth, with opportunities for pay increases within the band based on performance and contributions.
