Steinman Communications seeks a skilled Web Developer to enhance our web systems and websites. This role involves developing solutions with JavaScript and PHP, customizing sites on CMS platforms such as WPEngine and Blox Digital, and supporting plugin development, troubleshooting, and system updates. The Web Developer will also manage website-related help desk requests, assist with database management, and collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to optimize performance and integrate new technologies.

Web Developer Essential Job Functions

  • Code web pages and solutions using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, JQuery, AJAX, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Create and customize websites on CMS platforms like BLOX and WPEngine.
  • Document development processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand project objectives and define technical solutions.
  • Conduct system testing and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) for new releases.
  • Identify root causes of errors in production web solutions and implement effective remediation.
  • Engage with third-party providers and vendors for enhancements and troubleshooting.
  • Support software and website deployment, updates, and migrations.
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across business units.
  • Proactively identify problems and develop creative solutions.
  • Demonstrate a continuous desire to learn and apply new web technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including PHP, Python, jQuery, and AJAX.
  • Understanding of responsive design and mobile device/platform compatibility.
  • Basic knowledge of web servers (Apache, IIS).
  • Capability to analyze and modify existing codebases for business needs.
  • Experience with CMS platform development (e.g., WordPress, BLOX).
  • Familiarity with MySQL or MSSQL databases.
  • Experience integrating remote services using REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, with adaptability to changing priorities.
