The Sr Cloud Solutions Architect leads customer initiatives across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platforms. This role involves collaboration with customers and Connection sellers across Enterprise, Small & Medium Business, and Public Sector segments. As a customer-facing position, the Sr Cloud Solutions Architect owns the technical cloud relationship, managing engagements for Cloud Infrastructure and Azure Applications Development, including architectural design sessions, implementation projects, and pilots.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer application portfolios, IT, and business priorities to design implementation architectures and solutions using PaaS, DevOps, and advanced application coding.
- Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create modernization roadmaps. Architect solutions that meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability and successful deployments.
- Orchestrate key resources and integrate essential infrastructure technologies (e.g., Windows and Linux IaaS, Security, Networking) and application development/DevOps technologies (e.g., App Service, containers, serverless, cloud-native).
- Ensure all solutions deliver high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability, and reliability upon deployment.
- Develop strong relationships with key customer IT decision-makers to drive long-term cloud adoption and foster cloud advocacy.
- Maintain technical skills, stay updated on market trends and competitive insights, and collaborate within the technical community.
- Respond to RFPs and identify optimal cloud platforms for specific customer workloads and requirements.
Required Competencies
- 5+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications.
- Ability to solve customer problems through cloud technologies and to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams for successful project implementation.
- Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives in large or strategic accounts.
- Experience managing various stakeholder relationships to achieve consensus on solutions/projects.
- Demonstrated ability to drive decisions collaboratively, resolve conflicts, and ensure follow-through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, comfortable with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, Database Administrators, Data Scientists).
Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following:
- Deep domain expertise in cloud infrastructure solutions (e.g., Windows and Linux IaaS, SAP, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, containers, and Infrastructure as Code technologies).
- Cloud application development solutions (e.g., PaaS, Serverless, API Management).
- Container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry).
- Continuous integration technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure for DevOps, Chef, Puppet).
- Web application server technologies, cloud application design, software architecture and practices (design/development/deployment, Agile, SCRUM, ALM).
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C++, C#, Java, Node.js, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, Pig/Hive.
