OPTiMO, a consulting firm founded in 2008 specializing in enterprise-level application development, system integration, and digital design for public and private sector clients, is seeking a Senior Web Developer.
This role requires partnering closely with UI/UX design specialists to build high-traffic, public-facing applications serving thousands of daily active users. This position is remote.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US government clearance.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience as a Web software developer.
- Strong expertise in WordPress, PHP, and MySQL.
- Demonstrated accessibility expertise and experience implementing compliant interfaces, including knowledge of accessibility standards.
- Proficiency in front-end and scripting skills (HTML/CSS/JS, Java, Python, etc.).
- Ability to lead technical implementation and architectural design.
- Experience building front-end user interfaces using various frameworks and traditional techniques.
- Knowledge and application of responsive design principles.
- Experience supporting client digital transformation, including managing technical debt and championing the adoption of modern technology stacks in collaboration with project leaders and designers.
- Ability to develop and propose solutions for incompletely defined problems.
- Experience working as a sole developer within a team environment, demonstrating:
- Understanding of testing and reproducibility.
- Structuring code for automated builds.
- Consistent estimation of effort levels and technical tradeoffs.
- Participation in code reviews.
- Adherence to Agile methodology (timeboxing, sprints).
- Understanding of integrating with third-party systems.
- Basic database/query language understanding.
- Web services knowledge.
Helpful Experience
- Prior time as a consultant or serving as key personnel on a government contract.
- Integrating user interfaces (UIs) with content management systems (CMS).
- Experience using and designing for SEO and website analytics tools.
- API integration experience.
- Familiarity with SSO restricted environments.
