USA TODAY Co. seeks an accomplished and passionate Senior Developer to join our team. This role contributes to the development of next-generation web applications and platforms using cutting-edge technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the entire product development team throughout all stages of software development. Requirements
We are seeking a strong developer specializing in ad delivery and display to build platforms for cutting-edge ad experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the existing national digital advertisement infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to transform concepts into revenue-generating products.
- Support and integrate with Application and Product Development teams.
- Analyze and incorporate modern technologies as the landscape evolves.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Excellent skills in the latest JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS standards.
- Strong proficiency in Golang, Node.js, and PHP.
- Experience implementing Web UI/UX design.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment to solve complex problems.
- Ability to quickly pivot and manage essential assigned tasks.
- Passionate about solving problems for users, advertisers, and publishers.
- Proven Web Ad Tech experience (e.g., Google Ad Manager, Prebid).
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with Docker, Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, DataStudio, Kubernetes) or equivalent cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with Database Technologies (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Postgres, NoSQL).
- Strong experience utilizing GIT.
- Strong working knowledge of one or more Internet ad management or targeted marketing applications (e.g., Google Ad Manager, 24/7 Real Media, OAS, FreeWheel).
- Rich Media Vendor technology experience (e.g., Sizmek, Celtra, Vindico, Pointroll).
- Prior experience in media or a related industry is desirable.
Core Responsibilities
- Development, testing, release, and support of USA TODAY Co. advertising web frameworks, applications, and services.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and product/business managers to develop new features consistent with the product roadmap and revenue goals.
- Perform code reviews and recommend improvements.
- Maintain awareness of technology developments that impact audience product usage or extend new product potential.
- Proactively innovate, collaborate, and contribute ideas.
Compensation and Benefits
The annualized base salary for this remote role will range between $100,000 and $120,000. Base compensation is determined by factors including market location, individual education level, skills, certifications, and experience. Note: Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and may be applicable based on the role.
