Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack | PHP | JavaScript | React | Vue)

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the design and development of scalable, high-performance web applications. This is a hands-on Full Stack role, ideal for a seasoned engineer who enjoys daily coding, mentoring, and influencing architectural direction.

You will work across front-end and back-end technologies, including PHP, JavaScript (React, Vue, jQuery), and SQL/NoSQL, to deliver modern, data-driven websites reaching millions of users. We focus on making insurance simpler, clearer, and more accessible, empowering people to make smart, stress-free choices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of new features and enhancements across multiple web properties.
  • Design, implement, and maintain full stack applications (front-end, APIs, databases).
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Review code, mentor engineers, and uphold high standards for performance, maintainability, and security.
  • Manage Git workflows (branching, PRs, CI/CD) and deployment processes.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Contribute to technical planning, documentation, and architecture discussions.

Must-Have Technical Skills:

Hands-on expertise required:

  • Languages & Frameworks: PHP, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, Vue.js, React
  • Databases: SQL and NoSQL systems
  • Version Control: Git and modern CI/CD workflows

Must have experience shipping production code in a Full Stack, Web Engineering, or Front-End Lead capacity.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience or familiarity with any of the following:

  • CMS: WordPress
  • Frameworks: Angular
  • Data: BigQuery, MongoDB
  • Infrastructure: Docker, NGINX, Linux
  • Cloud: AWS or Google Cloud Platform (certifications a plus)
  • Tools: JIRA / Atlassian Suite
  • Languages: Python

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience (including full stack web development).
  • Deep knowledge of modern front-end and back-end technologies.
