Digital Resource Specialist (Remote, US)
The Digital Resource Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing SBCA’s digital ecosystem, focusing on website development, platform functionality, and resource accuracy. This position supports the implementation of new design features and ensures the underlying structure of SBCA’s websites, e-resources, and digital platforms are current and functional.
Key responsibilities include supporting the ongoing management of SBCA's learning management system (LMS), e-commerce/shopping platforms, and other digital tools vital for SBCA programs and member engagement. The specialist collaborates closely with senior leadership and third-party administrators (TPAs) on application design, configuration, and integration. Success requires excellent digital design skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a highly technical, multi-platform environment.
Digital Resource Specialist Responsibilities:
- Assist with comprehensive web development, including all aspects of website and application design.
- Support the implementation, rigorous testing, and ongoing maintenance of both backend and front-end applications.
- Contribute to innovation by brainstorming new technology applications, such as digital storage solutions and mobile technology integration.
- Collaborate with designers and TPAs to successfully implement new web features and functionalities.
- Work with management to evaluate, implement, and manage new technologies, automated systems, and digital platforms efficiently.
- Stay current with the latest technology and programming trends to ensure platform optimization.
- Convert various media types (video, audio, written, and graphic components) into compatible formats for web deployment.
- Utilize user feedback mechanisms to identify and promptly correct technical issues across SBCA’s websites and integrated third-party platforms.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar technical field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional working experience as a Web Designer or equivalent role.
- Demonstrated strong computer literacy and technical aptitude.
- Proven experience working with essential coding languages, including HTML, CSS, Python, jQuery, JSON, PHP, and Ajax.
- Solid foundational understanding of web design and development principles.
- Effective planning, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide a portfolio showcasing previous web design and development projects.
- Strong critical-thinking skills and workplace flexibility.
- In-depth knowledge of software prototyping and UX design tools.
- Goal-oriented approach with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The competitive salary is based on experience and qualifications, with an expected beginning wage range of $35.00 to $38.00 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.

Work Location and Physical Requirements
This is a Work from Home (Remote) position, requiring the successful candidate to be located within the United States. Candidates must possess high-quality, functional, high-speed internet access. SBCA provides the necessary computer and accessories, but the candidate must maintain a dedicated desk or workspace conducive to a successful work environment. Occasional travel to SBCA meetings, conferences, and staff meetings may be required.
Physical requirements include:
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to type at a fast pace for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to travel via commercial airline.
Expected hours: 38–43 per week.
