What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in WordPress maintenance and support. You should have:

  • WordPress Expertise: Hands-on experience running core, plugin, and theme updates, with an understanding of how to handle conflicts and errors.
  • Technical Foundation: Familiarity with web hosting environments, DNS, PHP versions, and common WordPress infrastructure components.
  • Security & Performance Awareness: Ability to implement patches, monitor uptime and Core Web Vitals, and identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Confidence resolving plugin conflicts, failed updates, and compatibility issues.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience using SFTP, SSH, Git, and project management and tools like ClickUp, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Communication & Documentation: Clear written communication and detailed documentation for seamless collaboration.

What Your Day Looks Like

As a WordPress Maintenance Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in keeping client sites healthy and running smoothly. Expect to:

  • Process WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates.
  • Review backups and security connections to ensure proper functionality.
  • Respond to alerts and minor server issues.
  • Conduct PHP version testing and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and broken updates.
  • Support Account Managers with technical insight.
  • Onboard new client sites into SiteCare’s maintenance system.
  • Document work clearly for transparency and collaboration.

  • Server Tools: SFTP, SSH, and Git.
  • Infrastructure: Linux, MariaDB/MySQL, Nginx/Apache, Cloudflare.
  • Collaboration: Slack, Zoom, and ClickUp.
