As a WordPress Developer at WPForms, you will join a diverse team responsible for building and supporting a wide range of websites. We seek candidates with strong experience in eCommerce and multiple payment gateways, coupled with expertise in troubleshooting payment and subscription issues.

Our websites are crucial engines that drive the customer experience and support many extended product features. We are looking for a qualified Full-Stack WordPress Developer to join our engineering team.

These sites facilitate sales and extend product functionality utilizing various cloud technologies based in PHP and JavaScript. We need curiosity-driven developers to help build the next generation of features. You will share ownership and success of website projects, collaborating on technical details and goals.

Your responsibilities will occasionally extend beyond core WordPress tasks to support a variety of ancillary installations and technologies. This includes maintaining and extending existing functionality, optimizing performance, and securing our codebase. You will be responsible for testing your own work and contributing to peer code reviews. We value a collaborative environment where ideas and professional growth are supported.

Requirements

• Extremely familiar with WordPress and all of its idiosyncrasies.
• Experience leveraging and integrating with 3rd Party APIs.
• Coding with modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespacing, traits, interfaces, etc).
• JavaScript experience of many flavors (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6, etc).
• Familiar with package managers (Composer & NPM).
• Excellent attention to detail in HTML & CSS/SCSS for great looking sites.
• Branching & merging workflows and strategies with git & Github.
• AI-savvy, comfortable using AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Co-Pilot, etc.) as part of your daily routine and always looking for ways to leverage AI effectively.
• WordPress eCommerce experience.
• eCommerce payment experience including Stripe and/or PayPal.
• Comfortable writing performant SQL queries for MySQL.
• WP-CLI proficiency and Linux/Shell scripting skills with the ability to support occasional DevOps tasks.
• A curious mind, great at troubleshooting.
• Willingness to learn!

Bonus points if you also have:

• Experience creating custom blocks for the Gutenberg (block) editor.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems.

Location

This is a remote position, as our team is spread around the globe. Our home base is in Florida, USA, with company operating hours from 9am - 5pm ET (UTC -5). While full coverage is not required, you must be available during a portion of the day.
