Web Administrator I – What This Role Is About
As a Web Administrator at AVB, you will play a crucial role in configuring, maintaining, and supporting e-commerce websites for our expanding member base. Your responsibilities will vary, from launching new sites and troubleshooting technical issues to supporting internal teams and assisting members with ongoing operations.
For new members, you will manage the complete site setup, including DNS configuration, Magento setup, payment gateway integration, shipping method configuration, store view management, and NGINX file adjustments. You will also apply bilingual language settings as needed.
For existing members, you will provide direct technical support, manage incoming requests via Jira, and collaborate closely with our development team to resolve issues efficiently.
This is an independent position, but you will be part of a collaborative team. We encourage open communication, asking questions, and continuous learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage the Jira development service desk:
- Review and prioritize incoming tickets
- Assign work to Development or other internal teams as necessary
- Handle tickets within the Web Admin scope
- Communicate daily with teams and stakeholders on status and progress
- Set up and configure websites for new members:
- Update DNS records
- Configure Magento settings, store views, and payment gateways
- Set up shipping methods
- Configure and support sales tax integration using Avalara for new and existing member websites
- Create and manage NGINX configurations
- Install and manage SSL certificates
- Apply bilingual settings when required
- Support existing member websites:
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Gather logs, details, and screenshots for in-depth investigations
- Escalate tickets to the appropriate development or support teams when necessary
- Assist with front-end updates and fixes:
- Update banners and page content
- Make basic HTML and CSS changes
- Diagnose and fix layout or formatting issues
- Help ensure websites comply with accessibility, usability, and brand standards
- Work with clients and third-party vendors on integrations and site-related needs
- Perform similar support and configuration work for AVB’s proprietary applications, including:
- Catalog management
- Website content tools
- POS systems
- Digital tags
- Customer management and sales solutions
- Maintain documentation and contribute to improving internal processes

Skills & Experience That Help You Succeed
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms and payment gateway configurations (Magento preferred; Shopify, BigCommerce, or similar platforms are acceptable)
- Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
- Experience using GitHub
- DNS experience is required
- Experience with SSL certificates and NGINX is a plus
- Familiarity with JavaScript, PHP, and web APIs is a bonus
- Understanding of web accessibility concepts
- Experience working with marketing or creative teams
- Ability to stay current with web and e-commerce best practices
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma, technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 1+ year of experience in a similar role performing comparable tasks
- At least 1 year of HTML and CSS experience
- Experience with CMS platforms (Magento preferred)
- Experience using ticketing or project management tools (Jira experience is a strong plus)
