Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the rapid, end-to-end development of new features for Loopio’s core web platform.
- Proactively engineer robust technology solutions to prevent software defects and ensure high quality.
- Engage directly with customers to gather detailed feedback, prioritizing a user-centric experience in development.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Product Designers within an agile framework to launch and iterate on features based on customer input.
- Mentor and coach engineering peers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and constructive feedback.
- Lead technical design discussions and facilitate critical technical decision-making processes.
Required Skills & Experience: What You’ll Bring to the Team
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong expertise in backend and API development using languages such as PHP, Python, or Java.
- Experience with frontend development, including a solid understanding of React and JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of database design and RDBMS technologies like MySQL.
- Experience utilizing search technologies or libraries, specifically Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
- Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Significant experience with AWS and modern DevOps practices.
- Comfort integrating AI-assisted or LLM-powered capabilities into production applications, collaborating with ML or data partners.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers through coaching, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Ability to guide technical design discussions and facilitate technical decision-making.
- A strong commitment to driving process improvements and enhancing software development productivity.
Bonus Experience: Monolithic and microservice architectures, Cypress, and integrations with third-party applications.

Our employees (Loopers) are based across Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), London (UK), and India (Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru).
- The majority of our team is based in ON and BC, working remotely within a a 300km radius of Toronto (Ontario) and Vancouver (BC).
- Flexible co-working locations are available for Loopers in ON (Downtown Toronto, near Union Station) and BC (central Vancouver).
You will collaborate virtually across North America, the UK, and India via Zoom and Slack, utilizing core sync hours and encouraging asynchronous collaboration to support our global #OneTeam.

Compensation and Company Policies
Compensation Range: CA$145.4K - CA$193.8K
