What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the rapid, end-to-end development of features for Loopio’s web platform.
- Proactively engineer solutions to prevent bugs, ensuring high software quality.
- Engage directly with customers to gather detailed feedback, prioritizing a user-centric experience.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Product Designers in an agile setting to iterate on features.
- Mentor and coach other engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering knowledge-sharing.
- Lead technical design discussions and facilitate critical technical decision-making. (Technical Lead experience is a bonus.)
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong expertise in backend and API development using PHP, Python, or Java.
- Solid frontend development experience, including React and JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of database design and RDBMS (e.g., MySQL).
- Experience with search technologies or libraries such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
- Proficiency in designing and utilizing RESTful APIs.
- Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and DevOps practices.
- Comfort integrating AI-assisted or LLM-powered capabilities into production applications, collaborating with ML/data partners.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers through coaching, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Ability to guide technical design discussions and facilitate technical decision-making.
- Commitment to driving process improvements and enhancing team productivity.
- Experience in the following is a plus: Monolithic and microservice architectures, Cypress, and third-party application integrations.

Loopio operates as a remote-first workplace, valuing flexibility. Our headquarters are in Canada, with established hiring hubs globally.
Our team members ("Loopers") are located across Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), London, and India (Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru).
For employees based in Ontario (ON) and British Columbia (BC), remote work is typically within a 300km radius of Toronto (ON) and Vancouver (BC), respectively. Flexible co-working locations are available in Downtown Toronto (near Union Station) and central Vancouver for ON and BC Loopers.
You will collaborate virtually across North America, the UK, and India, utilizing core sync hours and asynchronous collaboration to function effectively as a global #OneTeam.
