The Opportunity
We are seeking a Sr. Developer / Tech Lead to join our team and lead the technical implementation of client projects. This is a 3-month contract position with a clear path to a full-time role. This high-impact role involves working directly with leadership, taking significant ownership over technical decisions, and shaping how we deliver software solutions across multiple industries.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement software systems and architecture for client projects.
- Make technology and framework decisions based on project requirements.
- Lead development efforts and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Write clean, maintainable, production-ready code.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Mentor team members as the team grows.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python, PHP, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience with frameworks such as Django, Laravel, React, or Vue.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with database design and RESTful APIs.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
- Strong communication skills—you'll be working directly with clients.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Agriculture, Oil & Gas, or Construction industries.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Previous consulting or client-facing experience.
Details
Location: Remote or Hybrid (Calgary, AB)
Type: Contract (3 months), with opportunity to convert to full-time
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience (Starting from $45.00 per hour)
Expected hours: 40 per week
Start Date: Immediate
