Your Role at Dynatrace

As a Dynatrace Solution Engineer, you will be a vital part of the Dynatrace sales engine, offering exceptional technical support to the sales team. You will serve as the expert on Dynatrace and all aspects of Advanced Observability. This dynamic role involves delivering compelling demonstrations that highlight Dynatrace's unique approach to solving customer challenges, executing and managing Proofs of Concept (POCs) both on-site and remotely, cultivating strong relationships with Dynatrace customers, and completing RFIs & RFPs. You will also collaborate with various internal teams, including Dynatrace’s innovation labs, Expert Services consultants, CSMs, and marketing.

About You

To excel as a Solution Engineer at Dynatrace, you should be an ambitious, confident, and self-motivated individual with prior Solution Engineer (SE) experience or another technical customer-facing role. We seek someone passionate about innovative technology, technical sales, and effectively communicating value to customers and prospects. Additionally, we are looking for:

  • An excellent team player, capable of cross-functional collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical value into business benefits.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience with observability or application performance management (APM) technologies and techniques.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues to achieve successful outcomes and manage the resolution process.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work with various sales professionals, and support other Solution Engineers as needed.
  • A strong desire for professional growth, adaptability to evolving environments, and coachability.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Evangelize Dynatrace’s product offerings at international trade shows and key customer account meetings to drive new and expanded business.
  • Partner with sales representatives to identify new sales opportunities and incremental sales within existing accounts.
  • As part of the solution engineering team, participate in Proof of Concept (PoC) creation and cloud architecture discussions, leading the technical solution evaluation for sales opportunities directly or through channel partners across multiple PoCs.
  • Present Dynatrace’s vision to C-suite executives of our customers.
  • Provide technical guidance during the Discovery, Solution Evaluation, and Solution Proposal stages of the sales cycle.
  • Deliver on-stage demonstrations, providing insights and context to customers during major marketing events. Ensure key demonstrations are presented by you or a team member at demonstration booths during Dynatrace-sponsored industry events or partner-sponsored events.
  • Gather, qualify, and provide customer feedback to Product Management to enhance Dynatrace’s market share and address market needs.
  • Collaborate not only with the internal sales team but also with partners, supporting their teams with customers and serving as a technical point of contact (trusted advisor/technical coach).

Position might be filled at a higher level based on candidate experience.

What Will Help You Succeed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or experience.
  • 3 years of experience within the observability space.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages and technologies like Java, .NET, PHP, Go, Node.js, and database systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Operating Systems (OS) including Windows and Linux.
  • Experience with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with modern technologies such as containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Serverless functions, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.

Compensation and Rewards

The base salary range for this role is $128,000 - $160,000. Salary determination considers your experience, skills, education, and work location.
