Mountrel Limited, a leading UK telecommunications equipment supplier, is seeking a talented Software/Systems Developer. This high-impact role focuses on transforming manual processes into smart, automated systems, serving major clients like BT Openreach and alternative network operators.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop a client-facing quoting platform on the Mountrel website, enabling clients to upload project specifications and submit quotes.
• Build an automated system for calculating required telecommunications products, quantities, and pricing based on submitted project specifications.
• Develop functionality to generate detailed invoices automatically, creating a fully automated digital quoting workflow.
• Build and maintain internal systems across sales, supply chain, inventory, and finance.
• Automate repetitive workflows to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Integrate business tools and platforms via APIs to ensure seamless system connectivity and data flow.
• Create and maintain reporting dashboards for visibility across sales, operations, inventory, and financial performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of software development experience or a demonstrable portfolio.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, PHP, C#, Java).
• Expertise in database design and management (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Proficiency in API development and integration (REST, GraphQL, webhooks).
• Foundational knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for interface and dashboard creation.
• Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Proven track record in building internal tools, automation scripts, or business applications.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
• A strong portfolio or GitHub profile showcasing relevant projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n, or custom scripts).
• Knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or custom dashboards).
• Understanding of supply chain, inventory, or manufacturing systems.
• Experience within the telecommunications, manufacturing, or distribution sectors.
• Prior experience in startup or SME environments.
• A Degree in Computer Science or a related field (strong demonstrable skills can substitute for this requirement).
