Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shopify Website Builder for 1-2 contract projects. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing Shopify online stores to deliver exceptional user experiences and drive sales growth. Your expertise will transform creative concepts into fully functional, scalable, and visually appealing e-commerce storefronts. Compensation is negotiable based on experience, portfolio, and project timing. A theme has already been selected with a specific design in mind.
Responsibilities
- Build, customize, and maintain Shopify e-commerce websites using Shopify’s Liquid templating language and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, SCSS, Bootstrap) to ensure responsive design.
- Develop engaging user interfaces by wireframing and translating UX/UI designs into functional web pages that enhance customer engagement and usability.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and web services for smooth transactions and real-time data updates.
- Optimize website performance using developer tools, version control systems (GitHub, SVN), and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with design, content, and marketing teams to implement SEO best practices and improve site visibility.
- Manage database integrations (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server) to ensure data integrity and scalability.
- Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot bugs, and perform regular updates to ensure website security, functionality, and compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience building and customizing Shopify stores from scratch or via theme modifications.
- Strong knowledge of front-end development including HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS), JavaScript (TypeScript), and frameworks like React or Angular.
- Familiarity with back-end technologies such as PHP, Python, or Node.js for API integrations and server-side scripting.
- Experience with version control tools like GitHub or SVN within Agile software development environments.
