Duties
- Set up new Shopify stores from scratch, including configuring themes, layouts, and navigation to create visually appealing and user-friendly storefronts.
- Integrate essential apps and plugins such as SEO tools, payment gateways, shipping modules, and marketing integrations to enhance store functionality.
- Customize store design using HTML, CSS, SCSS (Sassy CSS), and Liquid (Shopify’s templating language) to match branding guidelines and improve user experience.
- Optimize site performance by implementing best practices in front-end development, including JavaScript enhancements and responsive web design techniques.
- Conduct thorough testing of store features across multiple devices and browsers to ensure seamless operation; troubleshoot issues related to bugs or compatibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using project management tools like Trello to manage timelines, tasks, and deliverables efficiently.
- Maintain detailed documentation of setup procedures, configurations, and customizations for future reference and scalability.
Skills
- Proficiency in Shopify platform setup, theme customization, and app integrations.
- Strong knowledge of front-end web development including HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular, React or similar frameworks.
- Experience with backend technologies such as PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails or Node.js for custom app development or API integrations.
- Familiarity with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server or MongoDB for data management tasks.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub or SVN for code management; experience with CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation.
- Understanding of system architecture principles including RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, GraphQL APIs for integrating third-party services.
- Ability to implement SEO best practices and optimize e-commerce sites for search engine visibility.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for hosting solutions; familiarity with Linux-based environments is a plus.
- Skills in wireframing and UX/UI design principles to craft intuitive user flows and engaging interfaces.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices including Ansible automation tools and Jenkins for continuous integration workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities; capable of working within Agile SDLC methodologies using Jira or similar tools.
