The Team: Global Private Cloud Infrastructure

The Private Cloud team manages Ticketmaster’s core global on-prem private cloud infrastructure. Our mission is to build and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure private cloud services that technology teams worldwide can easily consume and utilize.

The Job: Senior Software Engineering & Mentorship

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be crucial in building and maintaining software that integrates seamlessly with existing systems and platforms. This role involves mentoring junior team members and collaborating across teams to develop innovative infrastructure solutions. You will leverage existing technology to meet engineering needs effectively, focusing on high-quality standards and pragmatic solutions. Responsibilities include delivering technical analysis on business features, performing project estimates, and driving innovation.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop, implement, support, and maintain applications.
  • Create applications based on Go, Java, PHP, and Python.
  • Perform object-oriented analysis, applying industry best practices and techniques.
  • Create technical specifications for detailed application design.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
  • Maintain code quality through unit testing.
  • Document code appropriately for maintainability.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure adherence to design principles.
  • Mentor and coach team members on development processes.
  • Participate actively in daily stand-ups, collaborative sessions, and team meetings to create brilliant solutions.
  • Learn infrastructure processes to identify opportunities for system creation, improvement, and enhancement.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a highly competitive business environment, delivering solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, plus 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, web application architecture, scripting, and relational database design.
  • Demonstrated ability in leveraging Claude Code for AI-assisted development, understanding when to apply agentic coding workflows to optimize productivity, maintain code quality, and ensure secure, compliant usage.
  • Experience using MySQL or similar RDBMS, including the ability to write SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Proficiency with Go, Java, PHP, and Python.
  • Experience with scripting.
  • Experience mentoring team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum style team structure.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and deployments for a private cloud.
  • Knowledge of git-based source control management systems like GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.

Highly Desirable Skills

  • Experience with creating VMware automation/applications.
  • Experience with Virtualization and creating applications to support it.
