Site Reliability Department Overview

The Site Reliability Department is dedicated to delivering a seamless, visually engaging, and user-friendly experience across all digital platforms. This team focuses on optimizing and maintaining websites' front ends, with expertise in UI/UX design, interactive features, and overall site performance.

Role Summary

As a Senior Site Reliability Developer, you will play a dual role: actively contributing to web development and operations while serving as a technical leader within the team.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Lead by example, conduct training sessions, document best practices, and help junior developers grow in technical expertise.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with design, product, and infrastructure teams to align development and reliability goals with business objectives.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance on web development best practices, tools, and frameworks. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and security protocols. Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend their adoption when appropriate.

Problem Solving and Risk Management

• Identify potential project risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently.

Client-Facing Responsibilities

As called upon, you must be able to communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms, ensuring clients understand how solutions align with their goals. This requires active listening, patience, and the use of visuals to clarify ideas. Experience in client-facing roles helps manage expectations and resolve misunderstandings effectively.

Daily Development Tasks

The Senior Site Reliability Developer role includes elevated responsibilities beyond the standard SRE position, such as:

• Working within our ticketing system, addressing requests from Account Managers on behalf of clients, as well as handling internal requests from other departments.
• Working on existing websites within our different ecosystems: Studio 3’s proprietary CMS, “static” sites (HTML, PHP, CSS, JS), and WordPress.

Specific tasks include:

• Coding newly designed or modifying elements or sections.
• Creating and implementing interactive, validated forms with proper data handling.
• Adding additional content, creating new pages with provided content, etc.
• Adding, configuring, and integrating third-party scripts (e.g., analytics, marketing tools, chatbots, and payment gateways).
• Website migrations.
• Assisting with DNS and domain related issues.
• Site speed optimization (troubleshooting, implementation of best practices, etc.).

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Web Development: Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, PHP, and HTML for building, modifying, and optimizing web elements.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Skilled in identifying and resolving functionality, performance, and compatibility issues.
• Third-Party Integrations: Experience with API, Zapier, and other methods to integrate third-party services (e.g., analytics, chatbots, payment gateways).
• Web Forms: Ability to create and implement interactive, validated forms with proper data handling.
• Responsive Design: Strong understanding of modern web standards for cross-browser and mobile compatibility.
• Development Tools: Familiarity with Git, Docker, NPM, or other modern web tools.
• Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Works independently but knows when to seek help. Strong team collaboration skills.
• Project Management & Communication: Organized, meets deadlines, and communicates effectively.
• Continuous Learning: Stays updated on best practices and new technologies in web development.

Experience, Education, and Compensation

• Experience & Education: 6+ years in web development, computer science, or a related field.
• Required Experience: Web development (6 years), JavaScript (4 years), CSS (4 years), HTML (4 years).
• Preferred Experience: PHP (4 years), WordPress (4 years), Shopify (4 years).
• Job Type: Full-time.
• Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year.
• Work Location: Remote.
