We are looking for a seasoned Senior OPS Advisor to work with a large Quebec public organization on a strategic Infocentre environment. You will join a structured IT team to ensure the availability, integrity, security, and performance of heterogeneous technological environments, while automating and modernizing existing DevOps practices.
This is a long-term and stable mandate (up to 2 years), 100% flexible telework, in a professional setting where quality and technical expertise are valued.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure the availability, integrity, security, and performance of the environments under your responsibility
- Participate in needs analysis and the implementation of new solutions
- Contribute to the development of recovery plans for assets showing a gap
- Plan preventive activities (recovery, updates, monitoring, backup, etc.)
- Keep infrastructure architecture plans up to date
- Diagnose complex incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures
- Automate recurring tasks (Ansible, Jenkins, scripts)
- Liaise between development and operations teams
- Support developers and mentor technical best practices
- Contribute to increasing the quality and frequency of deliveries (CI/CD)
- Set up and maintain monitoring mechanisms (Zabbix)
- Implement and operate automated tests (integration, security, performance)
Profile Sought — MANDATORY Requirements
General Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a heterogeneous technological environment
Technical Mastery — minimum 3 years on EACH of the following technologies
- Ansible
- Jenkins
- Python
- Shell and PowerShell
- Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman or Cri-o)
- Oracle
- VMware
- Git
- Zabbix
Solid Knowledge
- Web applications on Linux: Apache, Postgres, MySQL, PHP, NGINX
- Standard services: NFS, Kerberos, NTP, SMB, Syslog
- Cloud environments: Azure or AWS
- Writing technical architecture documentation
- Good understanding of complex environments: virtualization, databases, telecom, storage, monitoring, backups
Languages
- French: spoken and written proficiency (mandatory)
- English: functional spoken and written knowledge
- Minimum 5 years in Linux systems administration
