The Role: Senior Software Engineer / Software Developer
We are seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer or Software Developer (whom we call Software Craftspeople), ideally with consulting experience, who aligns with our values of pragmatism, professionalism, and transparency. Our physical Spanish office is in Barcelona, but remote work from anywhere in Spain is also an option.
In this role, you might work on client projects from our offices using our team delivery approach, which could involve greenfield projects for startups or building mission-critical systems for large enterprise clients. Alternatively, you could serve as an embedded craftsperson within a client's existing development team, helping them improve their software development practices. You might also focus on introducing Software Craftsmanship values to organizations through coaching and mentoring.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with:
- High proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- 8+ years of experience with at least one of the following languages and its build system: Java, C#, Python, Ruby, Clojure, Scala, Kotlin, JavaScript, PHP.
- Comfort with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Familiarity with at least one cloud solution (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with multi-layer application design concepts.
- A quality-oriented approach, including adherence to best practices, testing (ideally Test-Driven Development - TDD), pair programming, continuous integration/deployment, Agile methodologies, and SOLID principles.
- Experience mentoring team members or leading a project/team.
