About Your New Role: Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the evolution of our mission-critical, 13-year-strong Quote Engine, which powers all quoting and pricing operations. This high-impact role involves building and shipping features in a complex, high-throughput environment while modernizing a battle-tested platform for future growth.
You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to design and deliver scalable production code, emphasizing reliability, performance, and maintainability. This opportunity is perfect for an engineer who excels at solving tough technical challenges and contributing directly to business-critical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core components of the production Quote Engine.
- Develop scalable, concurrent, and resilient services using modern software patterns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Vendor Management) to align feature delivery with strategic business goals.
- Implement event-driven and queue-based architectures, focusing on durability and fault tolerance.
- Ensure operational excellence by developing observable, maintainable, and secure systems.
- Participate actively in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to guarantee high-quality releases.
- Take on additional responsibilities and projects necessary for team and organizational success.
Must-Have Technical Expertise
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining full-stack features, split 50/50 between backend (PHP, Python, or Go) and frontend (React).
- Proven experience developing highly scalable, concurrent systems.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Multithreaded architectures, concurrency primitives, and non-blocking I/O.
- Distributed systems design (CAP trade-offs, consistency models).
- Event-driven architectures and microservices (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, Service Bus).
- Fault tolerance, back-pressure strategies, and circuit breakers.
- Familiarity with Azure (preferred) or other cloud platforms, including serverless orchestration.
- Solid understanding of authentication and security standards (OAuth 2.0, mTLS, secrets management).
