About the role

Imagine building impactful SaaS solutions that address critical problems in aviation safety. At SafetyManager365, a dynamic team within the Comply365 group, we operate with a startup mindset, backed by enterprise scale. We are seeking Full Stack Engineers passionate about building meaningful products, ideally with experience in enterprise software and exposure to AI or aviation.

Our engineering culture emphasizes collaboration and hands-on development, including test-first approaches, daily pairing, and continuous trunk-based shipping. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) with core collaboration hours from 10 am to 5 pm, offering flexibility outside these times. This hybrid role is based in Europe, specifically in Barcelona or Berlin, and reports to the technical leadership within SafetyManager365.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable AI software solutions tailored for airline clients.
  • Implement advanced machine learning algorithms and data processing techniques to solve complex aviation problems, such as predictive risk management and hazard identification.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to integrate AI models into production-ready software.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented full-stack code, adhering to software engineering best practices and high code quality standards.
  • Take ownership of cloud infrastructure setup and maintenance for developed code.
  • Engage in pair programming for most code, fostering constructive collaboration and contributing to continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure software reliability and robustness.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience with 8+ years of building high-reliability or at-scale solutions.
  • Strong background in backend software development with deep knowledge of at least one popular backend programming language: Python, Go, Kotlin, PHP, or Java preferred.
  • Proven track record with enterprise-scale database solutions such as Postgres.
  • Experience with frontend web applications; Typescript experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and experience with at least one major cloud infrastructure provider.
  • Practical experience applying machine learning models, algorithms, and techniques to real-world problems is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges and innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated proactive ownership of projects, delivering impact with autonomy and precision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable software solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration in cross-functional environments.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and industries, adapting to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the aviation industry and a desire to leverage AI technology for improvements in airline safety.
  • Willingness to engage in frequent pair programming sessions; previous experience is preferred but not required.

Salary:

€80,000 - €100,000 gross per annum. The salary offered will be determined within this range based on relevant experience, qualifications, and demonstrated competencies.
