About the Role
You will lead the planning, execution, and optimization of high-performing email campaigns and strategic content designed to drive leads and support monthly sales targets.
This role emphasizes delivering the right message to the right audience through strong segmentation, persuasive copywriting, and data-driven optimization. You will ensure campaigns are deployed on schedule, achieve strong deliverability, and continuously improve performance.
Reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager within the Email Marketing team, you will collaborate closely with internal and external marketing teams to align messaging and maximize results.
Your Responsibilities
Senior Duties:
- Plot, coordinate, and schedule the monthly email calendar, ensuring all email campaigns are optimized for maximum deliverability and sent on schedule.
- As a senior team member, support the Email Marketing Manager with ad-hoc leadership responsibilities as needed.
- Lead the maintenance and segmentation of our databases and unsubscribe lists, ensuring other team members are cross-trained and proficient.
- Assist the Email Marketing Manager with training and upskilling team members.
- Support Email Specialists in troubleshooting spam tests, deliverability, formatting, and HTML issues.
- Ensure performance dashboards are kept up to date and coordinate any enhancements with the Admin team.
Email Campaigns (75%):
- Create clear and compelling email campaigns that convert into leads and deals.
- Brainstorm and propose fresh content angles for emails monthly.
- Research our industry, competitors, and target audience to formulate ideas or support writing.
- Stay informed of new product or feature releases to incorporate into campaigns.
- Write blog articles using ChatGPT to support and enhance email campaigns.
- Create and design email graphics or ticket more complex requirements to the Creative team.
- Set up and deploy email campaigns and A/B tests.
- Optimize email deliverability using tools such as Glocks and MailReach.
- Optimize email responsiveness and HTML using tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver.
- Build new email templates, workflows, and campaigns to support marketing objectives.
- Create, update, and maintain automated email series.
- Monitor and report on projects, email deliverability, engagement, conversion, and other key performance metrics.
- A/B test new ideas for email subject lines, copy, and designs.
- Continually research and identify ways to improve and optimize email campaigns.
- Contribute to monthly reporting processes.
- Undertake list management, segmentation, and clean-up processes.
- Update and maintain process documentation as required.
- Perform other marketing project tasks as assigned by management.
Content (19%):
- Write compelling, engaging copy with the goal of increasing brand awareness, web traffic, and lead generation.
- Develop engaging, channel-appropriate marketing copy that will raise brand awareness and generate leads. You will be responsible for writing copy for:
- Award submissions
- Advertising
- Sales brochures
- Case studies
- Blog articles
- Website pages (landing, product, and feature pages)
- Meticulously edit and proofread copy to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and error-free.
- Independently or partner with the SEO team in the selection of relevant keywords.
- Search engine optimize (SEO) the content you write with selected keywords.
Link Building (6%):
- Assist with building quality backlinks on relevant, high-ranking external sites.
KPIs
Your performance will be based on meeting targets for:
- Accuracy and maintenance of email marketing list segments
- Quantity and quality of work
- Tasks completed on time
- Email open rates and click-through rates
- Lead targets
- Number of backlinks built
Requirements
ESSENTIAL – you must possess these skills:
- 3+ years' experience in developing and managing email marketing campaigns, especially for lead generation.
- Experience in creating different email templates using drag-and-drop editors.
- Experience in using email marketing tools; we use Active Campaign.
- Working knowledge of HTML for email marketing.
- Knowledge of email marketing best practices.
DESIRABLE – bonus if you possess these skills:
- Using AI to enhance and expedite your work.
- Experience writing blogs, webpages, and other marketing collateral.
- Experience building external SEO backlinks.
- Experience in creating email automation and workflows.
