Summary
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work with one of the world's richest data sets, leverage cutting-edge technology, and translate insights into real-world impact. The ideal candidate will possess a background in a quantitative or technical field, demonstrate a perfectionist mentality, and exhibit excellent communication skills. We are looking for an accuracy-focused, self-starter with a proven track record of using analytics to drive understanding and influence business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Collect data from company products (Search, messages, Instagram, ads, etc.) for legal matters.
- Automate analyses and develop data pipelines using SQL and Python-based ETL frameworks.
- Build dashboards to visualize data pipelines for non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay informed about new structured data sources within the Company and assist non-technical partners in understanding their use and content.
- Create and maintain internal documentation for pipelines, tools, and data sets.
- Partner with lawyers across the Legal department to understand their data requirements.
- Collaborate with economic consultants to develop product and financial models.
- Work with data science teams to ensure analysis accuracy.
- Engage with infrastructure and data engineers for effective management of large data sets.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in quantitative analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Quantitative or Technical field.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data analysis.
- Experience with Python/R scripting.
- Familiarity with distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop).
- Experience with Unix/Linux.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Proven experience working cross-functionally and communicating technical information to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master's degree in a technical discipline.
- PHP experience.
- Experience collaborating with non-technical partners.
Pay Transparency
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $75.00 - $85.00/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay range, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, experience, and selected benefits package. Full-time employees are eligible for various benefits packages, which may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 10 paid days off, 401(k) plan participation, commuter benefits, and life and disability insurance.
