Overview:
GovCIO is looking for an analytical, results-driven professional to join our team as a Full Stack Developer providing Java-focused full stack application development. This role involves working on multiple aspects of complex digital services solutions (front and back-end components) within a blended open-source technology stack, working as part of an integrated team for DHS United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Responsibilities:
- Candidate will focus on helping Tier III support and researching production issues across a myriad of existing applications.
- Support full cycle issue resolution from understanding problems, troubleshooting them, and supporting execution of code fixes.
- Experience in an agile environment as a member of a Scrum team, working with Product Owners and Scrum Teams in requirements decomposition, backlog refinement, and breakdown of user stories and tasks using Jira and Confluent.
- Experience with RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) databases.
- Experience using Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK) and with one or more open-source products such as Python, JavaScript, PHP, or Java.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs for consumption by front-end developers.
- Experience integrating with external REST web services and XML payloads.
- Experience writing Test Driven Development scripts, unit and end-to-end automated tests.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, Markdown text, and Jenkins.
- Knowledge of AWS services including AWS GuardDuty, RDS, S3, EC2, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, Lamda, DMS, KMS, CloudFormation, ASG, ECS, Cloudtrail, ECS, and EFS.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or commensurate experience)
- 3+ years work experience as a developer (2+ years of Java experience)
Clearance Required
- US Citizenship
- Ability to attain DHS Suitability (active suitability a plus)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Strong oral communication skills
- Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Understanding of Agile and DevOps Framework
- Experience with ServiceNow, LockBox Tester, and Jira

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors. Posted Salary Range: USD $100,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
