ScienceLogic is seeking a highly motivated Professional Services Technical Consultant to serve as the primary technical interface and onsite subject matter expert for our ScienceLogic product line. What you’ll be doing
- Provide onsite consulting services and support to ScienceLogic customers, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of ScienceLogic appliances related to the ScienceLogic suite of products.
- Collaborate closely with customer’s technical and management staff, acting as a subject matter expert for ScienceLogic products.
- Manage customer work activities both on-site and remotely as required.
- Lead on-site ScienceLogic implementation activities as a dedicated SME and Technical Consultant.
- Act as the internal customer advocate for problem resolution, new product features, and future product direction.
- Record all activity diligently in the department’s ticketing system.
- Utilize and create knowledge base articles based on field incidents, common issues, or critical problems.
- Adhere strictly to ScienceLogic Professional Services best practices.
- Participate actively in departmental projects.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to your customers regarding the ScienceLogic product suite.
- Demonstrate creativity in seeking new and innovative ways to resolve technical problems.
- Document and record all activity and communication with customers (in person, telephone, email) according to departmental quality standards.
- Support and provide consulting services for federal or commercial IT standards (e.g., Federal ATO process, Security Audits, Change Management procedures).
Qualities you possess
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a similar technical field.
- An effective team player willing to assist others when needed.
- Proven experience with the implementation of enterprise-level network management or application performance products.
- A process-driven and proactive mindset, committed to continuous improvement.
- Thorough understanding of IT infrastructure, application, and enterprise infrastructure best practices.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and customer-handling skills; flexible and eager to learn new technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience supporting or using enterprise-class infrastructure monitoring platforms.
- 5+ years of Linux operating system experience.
- 3+ years of database query experience.
- 3+ years of experience with SNMP and vendor MIB architecture.
- 3+ years of experience configuring SNMP trap and/or Syslog alerts.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell, WMI, XML/SOAP, and API technologies.
- Self-motivated with the ability to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in sometimes stressful situations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize competing project timelines effectively.
As a plus, you have
- Ability to identify process bottlenecks and propose potential solutions with automations or scripting.
- Experience with ITSM, EMS/NMS Systems (e.g., EM7, Solarwinds, IBM NetCool/Tivoli Nagios, HP OpenView, or similar) and SNMP.
- PHP, GQL, and/or Python experience desired.
- Previous integration experience with ServiceNow, PagerDuty, or other ITSM platforms.
