Odoo Developer / Business Applications

Leonardo Belgium supports a major European institution focused on diplomacy and international affairs. Its IT department delivers critical services to internal staff and delegations within a complex, highly secure environment.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to work on business applications, including a highly customized standalone application based on the Odoo 16 framework, and/or other proprietary applications developed and maintained internally. This role is not limited to a single system; engineers contribute their skills where they add the most value across the application ecosystem.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, business applications, and customized platforms.
• Improve reliability, maintainability, and development best practices.
• Build integrations between systems, services, and data sources.
• Investigate and resolve complex production incidents.
• Analyze existing solutions and propose pragmatic improvements.
• Collaborate in a DevSecOps environment with operations and security teams.
• Share knowledge and document technical design decisions.

Profile sought

Experience

• Training or initial experience in a development environment.
• Willingness to work on complex, evolving, or legacy systems.
• Comfortable in multicultural environments that may not always be perfectly structured.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory (minimum B2).

Technical skills

• Backend development in Python, Java, or PHP.
• Knowledge of APIs, integrations, and data modeling.
• Understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
• Git or similar version control system.
• Debugging and root cause analysis.
