Position Summary

The Junior Web Developer will support the maintenance, cleanup, and ongoing evolution of our existing websites while assisting with the development of a new unified web platform. This role partners closely with the Senior Web Developer to ensure current web properties remain stable, well-structured, and performance driven. The position contributes to content quality, technical SEO, data structure, and platform scalability across multiple brands and partner practices.

Key Performance Areas

KPA 1. Website Maintenance & Content Structure

  • Maintain and update existing company and partner websites
  • Clean, standardize, and improve semantic HTML across blog and content pages
  • Ensure consistency and quality of markup and page structure
  • Implement URL updates, redirects, and structural improvements
  • Support preparation of legacy content for platform migration

KPA 2. Data Organization & Platform Support

  • Assist with extracting, organizing, and structuring data from websites and databases
  • Support backend content and reporting tasks
  • Help prepare and normalize data for unified platform publishing
  • Contribute to scalable content models and structured data approaches

KPA 3. Development & Technical Quality

  • Troubleshoot and debug frontend and backend issues
  • Apply best practices for performance, accessibility, SEO, and security
  • Assist with integrations involving third-party APIs and external services
  • Read, understand, and enhance existing codebases

KPA 4. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with the Senior Web Developer on platform enhancements
  • Communicate progress and blockers clearly in a remote environment
  • Manage assigned tasks independently and meet delivery timelines
  • Continuously build technical skills aligned with platform needs
  • Contribute to improvements in publishing workflows and site performance

Position Qualifications

Education

Associate’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent practical experience

Minimum Relevant Experience

Required:

  • Working knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, PHP, Python, C#)
  • Basic understanding of server-rendered websites and web architecture
  • Familiarity with URL parameters, redirects, and content structure concepts
  • Some experience working with databases or structured data
  • Ability to read and improve existing code
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote team environment
  • Strong learning agility and adaptability

Preferred

  • Exposure to technical SEO and analytics tools
  • Experience with APIs or third-party integrations
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms or content-heavy websites
  • Experience with Git or version control workflows
  • Background in marketing, lead generation, or data-driven websites
