Your Role: Specialist Technical IT Security

As a Specialist in Technical IT Security within the Platform & Operations department at K+S Aktiengesellschaft in Kassel, you will play a key role in advancing our security landscape. You will actively contribute to our security architecture, operate and improve central security mechanisms (e.g., Reverse Proxies, Endpoint/Data/Identity Protection), and expand your expertise into areas such as Microsoft 365, web server operations, scripting, and small web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operation & Development of Central Security Mechanisms: Manage Reverse Proxies, Endpoint/Data/Identity Protection, and associated monitoring and logging processes.
• Shaping Security Architecture: Contribute to standards, policies, and technical designs for a robust, scalable, and auditable IT security environment.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop small tools, scripts, and web helper applications (using PowerShell, Python, PHP, etc.) to enhance the efficiency of security and platform tasks.
• Broad Development Spectrum: Deepen your knowledge in areas such as Microsoft 365 Administration (including AI with Copilot), web server operations, Access Management, Vulnerability and Patch processes, SIEM/Defender signals, or Certificate/TLS management, based on your interests.
• Microsoft 365 Administration (Optional): Assist in administering our M365 environment, from identities and Conditional Access to security configurations.

Your Profile

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field.
• Passion for IT security and eagerness to learn – whether you are at the beginning of your career or already experienced.
• Basic knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or PHP) and a desire to automate tasks.
• Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure (e.g., networks, web servers, authentication/authorization) – we will teach you the rest.
• Meticulous, structured work approach and a sense of responsibility for operating security-relevant systems.
• Team spirit and strong communication skills – in German and English.
• Desirable: Initial exposure to Reverse Proxies, Endpoint/Data/Identity Protection, M365 Administration, Identity & Access Management, or Vulnerability/Patch processes.
• Very good German language skills (fluent spoken and written) and good English skills.
