Freelance Website Developer

The 95 Agency is seeking a skilled Freelance Website Developer to join our team. This remote, project-based role focuses on supporting a growing pipeline of website, landing page, Shopify, e-commerce, and digital experience projects. We are looking for a sharp, reliable, and technically strong developer committed to building high-performing, visually appealing websites. The ideal candidate can translate approved designs into clean, responsive websites, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and deliver polished work independently.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop responsive websites, landing pages, Shopify stores, and e-commerce experiences.
• Transform Figma designs and creative concepts into functional, polished websites.
• Build and customize websites using Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, and similar platforms.
• Develop and modify Shopify themes, templates, sections, and product pages.
• Set up Shopify collections, navigation, product variants, discounts, shipping, taxes, and checkout settings.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Shopify apps and third-party integrations.
• Create custom page layouts, forms, interactive features, and conversion-focused experiences.
• Collaborate with design, creative, marketing, and strategy teams.
• Ensure websites are mobile-friendly, fast, accessible, and easy to navigate.
• Troubleshoot bugs, app conflicts, plugin conflicts, layout issues, and performance problems.
• Connect analytics platforms, CRMs, email marketing systems, payment solutions, and other third-party tools.
• Support website migrations, redesigns, updates, launches, and ongoing maintenance.
• Implement basic on-page and technical SEO best practices.
• Test websites across browsers, screen sizes, and devices before launch.
• Manage revisions and complete projects on schedule.
• Maintain organized files, backups, credentials, and project documentation.
• Stay current with Shopify updates, development tools, security standards, and market trends.

What You Bring

• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Extensive experience developing and managing Shopify websites.
• Proficiency with Shopify Liquid, themes, templates, sections, collections, products, and apps.
• Proven experience building responsive, mobile-first websites.
• Ability to accurately convert Figma designs into functional websites.
• Strong experience with WordPress, Webflow, or comparable website platforms.
• Understanding of website hosting, domains, DNS, SSL certificates, and deployment.
• Experience with APIs, plugins, themes, forms, payment gateways, and third-party integrations.
• Strong troubleshooting and quality-control skills.
• Understanding of website speed, performance optimization, conversion optimization, and technical SEO.
• Familiarity with Git, version control, staging environments, and backups.
• Ability to write clean, organized, and maintainable code.
• Strong workflow management, deadline adherence, and clear communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a creative team.
• Plus: Experience with PHP, React, or other modern frameworks.
• Plus: Experience with Shopify Plus.
• Plus: Experience with subscription products, memberships, booking systems, or custom e-commerce functionality.
• Plus: Experience with website accessibility and security standards.

• Available for project-based assignments with reliable turnaround times.
• Comfortable working remotely and independently.
• Able to manage multiple projects, revisions, and launch deadlines.
• Communicate clearly and respond consistently during active projects.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions efficiently.
• Reliable access to necessary software, equipment, and internet connection for professional development work.
• Must test and troubleshoot all work before submission.

A portfolio is required. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Your portfolio must include links to live websites and Shopify stores you have built or significantly contributed to. Clearly explain your role, the platform used, and any custom functionality, theme development, integrations, or e-commerce features you completed. Screenshots alone are not sufficient; live work demonstrating responsive execution, user experience, Shopify capabilities, and overall technical quality is essential.
