We are seeking a Digital Architect to partner closely with digital product, business, and implementation teams. This role is crucial for developing end-to-end solution designs for digital assets (Web applications and APIs), ensuring alignment with overall enterprise goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the current state architecture for Versant’s digital assets (web applications and APIs) and propose modernization approaches.
- Document and identify options for transient and future state architecture.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; participate in discovery and feature grooming sessions.
- Perform full impact analyses to determine sizing, gaps, and implementation feasibility; document and socialize findings.
- Lead design discussions and develop solution designs with business stakeholders and IT development teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Solution designs must prioritize:
- Alignment to future state (reducing technical debt)
- Reusability, Modularity, and Cost Optimization
- Minimizing dependency on external entities
- Minimizing impacts to internal and external customers
- Adherence to application and systems security standards
- Create comprehensive solution architecture proposal documents; responsible for finalization, acceptance, and approval by relevant stakeholders.
- Work with project managers and delivery leads to plan key design activities.
- Adhere to solution architecture governance processes, focusing on design patterns and technology standards.
- Review high-level and low-level designs with technical leads and developers; enforce best practices, design patterns, and architecture standards for high-quality development deliveries.
- Explore, evaluate, and promote technology innovation.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience in a full software development life cycle, including ability to work in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Hands-on experience developing/designing web applications and integrating them with backend systems via APIs.
- Hands-on experience developing/designing real-time application integration using messaging (JMS/MQ/KAFKA/SQS).
- Hands-on experience developing/designing application integration using microservices and APIs.
- Hands-on experience in design and development of web-based and mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of digital application security.
- Hands-on experience developing applications using languages such as: GraphQL, Node.js, Java, C# .Net, python, JavaScript, R, PHP, SWIFT.
- Must have strong understanding of Structured Query Languages (SQL).
- Good knowledge of data modeling for Domain Data Store to pair with microservices.
- Good knowledge of cloud architecture.
- Experience working on healthcare payer business domains (e.g., Enrollment and Eligibility, Claims Adjudication, Provider) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong leadership abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to apply standards and processes.
- Self-motivated, strong delivery focus, and ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with associates, customers, and vendors.
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage time across simultaneous projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in web application and API development.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in solution design or application architecture for web application and APIs.
- Experience in the healthcare payer industry is preferred.
HIPAA & Security Requirements
All Associates must comply with HIPAA regarding disclosures of protected health information (PHI) and adhere to all data security guidelines established within the Company’s Privacy & Security Training Program.
The wage range for applicants for this position is $150,000.00 to $160,000.00. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
