Developer II: Web Tools & Software Development
The Developer II collaborates closely with internal Developer, Network Administrator, and Quality Assurance teams. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality, web-based tools, ensuring comprehensive documentation, and performing essential bug correction before production releases. The Developer II reports directly to the Information Technologies Supervisor.
Essential Functions

The essential functions of the Developer II include, but are not limited to:
- Develop software solutions for internal use by Certrec or external customers.
- Process and maintain documentation for both new and existing products.
- Assist in the evaluation of current products to identify and address defects.
- Facilitate controlled software releases to the production environment by managing code changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Demonstrated working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Understanding of SQL utilizing transactions; MySQL experience is preferred.
- High level of technical understanding and familiarity with Agile-based development methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standard release procedures and version control systems (SVN, Git, and AlienBrain).
Required Education and Experience
- An associate degree or 60 college credit hours from an accredited university. An IT bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required.
- 5+ years of related work experience.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Multitasking: Ability to simultaneously perform multiple assignments effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interface effectively as a team player with different organizational levels, both internally and with clients.
- Computers & Software: Proficiency in at least one web development language (Python is preferred, but C++ and PhP are suitable).
- Ability to work independently with some oversight or collaboratively within a team.
- Must abide by all Company Policies and Procedures.
