We are seeking an experienced Web Designer and Developer for a comprehensive, ground-up rebuild of an existing website. This contract/freelance role offers the potential for ongoing work and focuses on full modernization, including design, structure, performance, and overall user experience (UX).
Job Type: Contract / Freelance (Potential for ongoing work, Full-time options available)
Work Location: Remote (If not located in Louisiana, otherwise in-person is an option).
Project Scope & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, scalable, and maintainable custom website built to modern standards. Responsibilities include:
- Designing a modern, clean, and professional custom website.
- Rebuilding the website from scratch (must avoid templates or page builders).
- Updating and improving graphic design, layout, and visual identity.
- Updating or sourcing photos and visual assets, and organizing existing content.
- Implementing a responsive, mobile-first design.
- Ensuring strong UX/UI best practices are followed.
- Implementing basic SEO and accessibility best practices.
- Guaranteeing performance, security, and scalability.
- Handling deployment and launch support.
Technical Requirements
Experience with some or all of the following technologies is required:
- Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React / Vue / Next.js (or similar frameworks).
- Back-end: Node.js, Python, PHP, or other modern frameworks.
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Version control (Git).
- Hosting, deployment, and production setup.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience building custom websites from scratch.
- Strong portfolio showcasing modern, professional custom builds.
- Ability to translate business goals into technical solutions.
- Clear communication and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Attention to quality, maintainability, and detail.
- Education: Bachelor's (Preferred).
- Experience: Web design: 1 year (Preferred).
- Language: English (Preferred).
