We are looking for an Application Architect & Lead Developer S-Messenger (m/f/d) to join our team in Halle (Saale) full-time at the earliest possible date.
Today, communication is more than just messaging—it is a central component of modern customer relationships. With the S-Messenger, we actively shape digital communication within the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and develop a platform used daily by numerous savings banks and their customers.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for developers who do not just write software, but want to actively develop and technically shape modern communication solutions.
Your Tasks
- Operation, maintenance, and continuous development of the S-Messenger
- Conception, implementation, and introduction of new features and technical improvements
- Analysis, refactoring, and modernization of existing software components to increase quality, performance, and maintainability
- Support of application operations, including deployment, monitoring, and automation of processes
- Participation in the design and further development of the technical architecture and technological standards
- Close cooperation with development, operations, and specialist departments to implement functional and technical requirements
What You Bring
- Sound knowledge of PHP and Node.js, as well as experience in the development and further development of applications
- Practical experience with Linux (Ubuntu Server), Docker, Docker Compose, Ansible, and Bash
- Experience in refactoring existing systems and using automated tests
- Good understanding of maintainable, scalable, and stable software architectures, as well as established best practices and architecture patterns
- Ideally, knowledge of other programming languages such as Python, C/C++, C#, Rust, or Go
- Interest in modern technologies, especially container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm), AI, and Agentic Coding
