WordPress Website Specialist — Builds, QA & Support

Golf Cart Resource / GCR Dealer Services

Location: Remote
Position: Part-time contract / independent contractor
Compensation: $20–$40 per hour, based on experience
Hours: Approximately 10–30 hours per week, with potential to grow into a full-time role

About Us

Golf Cart Resource and GCR Dealer Services provide websites, inventory management tools, and digital marketing solutions for golf cart dealerships across the United States. We serve more than 200 clients, helping dealerships manage inventory, generate leads, and grow their businesses online.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented WordPress Website Specialist who can help build, review, launch, and support dealership websites. If you enjoy improving websites, catching problems before clients see them, and following work through to completion, we’d like to hear from you.

The Role

This is a hands-on role combining WordPress website development, quality assurance (QA), launch coordination, and client support.

You’ll help move new websites through our existing build pipeline, review work completed by outside developers, and contribute directly to more complex builds. You’ll also help maintain existing websites and resolve support requests.

You won’t be working alone. We have established processes, an organized proprietary backend system, and WordPress developers available to handle delegated production work. Your responsibility will be to give clear direction, verify the results, and make sure work is ready before it goes live.

What You’ll Do

Website Builds & Quality Assurance

  • Build and update WordPress websites using Elementor.
  • Take a hands-on role in more complex builds, layouts, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate simpler builds and routine tasks with our outside developers.
  • Review completed work against project requirements and communicate corrections clearly.
  • Check websites across desktop, tablet, and mobile for layout, content, navigation, links, images, and usability.
  • Test forms, lead delivery, inventory displays, and integrations before launch and after changes.
  • Identify accessibility issues and verify that requested fixes have been completed.

Website Setup & Launches

  • Configure our backend software and connect it to new dealership websites using established procedures.
  • Help clients review their new websites before launch, including occasional client calls.
  • Coordinate domain access and manage DNS or nameserver changes needed to launch websites.
  • Map existing URLs to the appropriate replacement pages and implement and test 301 redirects.
  • Connect websites to client domains and verify SSL, forms, inventory, and other critical functionality after launch.
  • Plan domain changes carefully to preserve existing services, including email.

Ongoing Maintenance & Support

  • Respond professionally to assigned support tickets from clients with live websites.
  • Make content, image, layout, landing page, and basic SEO updates.
  • Troubleshoot WordPress, Elementor, form, and inventory-related issues.
  • During slower build periods, review older websites for needed updates, broken functionality, and potential security concerns.
  • Apply and verify updates using appropriate backup, staging, and recovery procedures.
  • Delegate routine work where appropriate and check the results before changes go live.
  • Document solutions and escalate issues that require additional development expertise.

Process Improvement & AI

  • Follow existing procedures and help improve our checklists and documentation.
  • Use ChatGPT or similar AI tools to support troubleshooting, documentation, and website work.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks while protecting client information and verifying the results.

What We’re Looking For

  • Practical experience building, updating, and troubleshooting WordPress and Elementor websites.
  • Strong QA habits—you check your work and look beyond whether a page simply “looks right.”
  • Experience with website launches, domain management, DNS, SSL, and 301 redirects.
  • Ability to map old pages to relevant new destinations when replacing a website.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, plus enough familiarity with JavaScript and PHP to investigate issues and work effectively with developers.
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals, including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, and redirects.
  • Awareness of website accessibility fundamentals.
  • Comfort learning a proprietary backend and inventory management system.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to explain website changes to nontechnical clients.
  • Ability to organize multiple projects, document progress, and follow through without daily reminders.
  • A service-minded approach: patient, helpful, respectful, and willing to take ownership of resolving problems.

Helpful Bonus Experience

  • ACF (Advanced Custom Fields)
  • Gravity Forms
  • Inventory, marketplace, or dealership websites
  • WordPress security and performance troubleshooting
  • Coordinating outside developers
  • Leading client website reviews
  • Building useful AI-assisted workflows or automations

Schedule & Working Style

You’ll have flexibility in how you organize your 10–30 hours per week. We do need reliable communication, agreed turnaround times, and some availability for scheduled team or client calls.

We’re a small team that values trust and ownership. We don’t micromanage, but we do expect you to meet commitments, communicate blockers early, and deliver work you’ve checked carefully.

There is potential for this position to grow into a full-time role as our business and your responsibilities expand.

How to Apply

Apply through Indeed or email [email protected].

Please include:

  • A brief introduction and a summary of your WordPress, Elementor, and website support experience.
  • Two or three examples of websites you’ve worked on, if available. Tell us specifically what you handled on each.
  • Your requested hourly rate, expected weekly availability, time zone, and general availability for calls.
  • Brief answers to these questions:
    • Describe a website launch or major update you helped manage. What did you personally handle, and how did you check that everything worked?
    • A replacement website is ready to launch, but several old page URLs have changed. How would you handle the redirects and verify the launch?

Application detail: If applying by email, use the subject line “Website Specialist — Ready for Launch.” If applying through Indeed, include “Ready for Launch” at the beginning of your introduction.

Concise, specific answers are welcome. We’re interested in your actual experience, judgment, and attention to detail.
