Join TSEG, a division of Cloud[8]Sixteen, Inc., as an experienced WordPress Technical Lead. Our team delivers premier digital advertising services to elite law firms nationwide.

In this pivotal role, you will lead a development team, overseeing the management, maintenance, and innovation of WordPress solutions for clients across the United States. This involves architecting scalable WordPress solutions, mentoring developers, and ensuring all client sites are secure, performant, and client-tailored. You will also be responsible for building and delivering high-impact landing pages, quizzes, and conversion infrastructure to power paid media campaigns, collaborating with Operations and Sales to provide compliant, performance-driven web experiences at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Mentor

  • Provide technical direction and foster professional growth for WordPress developers.
  • Serve as the final escalation point for complex debugging issues.
  • Oversee regular code reviews to ensure best practices and high standards across all projects.

Tooling & Optimization

  • Navigate various site builders (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery) while maintaining clean, efficient underlying code.
  • Optimize for Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), ensuring all client sites meet “Good” thresholds for speed, interactivity, and visual stability.

Architect Solutions

  • Oversee the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for WordPress projects, from initial scoping to final deployment.

Custom Development

  • Build and maintain bespoke WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Leverage Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create intuitive, flexible editing experiences.

Deploy & Manage

  • Deploy and manage WordPress sites across cPanel, SFTP, and/or managed WordPress hosting environments.
  • Tasks include theme uploads, DNS configuration, and cache management.

Conversion Infrastructure

  • Integrate quiz platforms, intake forms, and e-signature providers into landing pages.

Tracking & Analytics

  • Implement and maintain tracking infrastructure, including Meta Pixel, Conversions API (CAPI), Google Tag Manager, and GA4.
  • Provide data to Operations and Sales for optimizing paid media performance.

UI/UX Strategy

  • Bridge the gap between design and development, ensuring sites are functional and offer a seamless, high-end user experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience focused on WordPress.
  • Mastery of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.

Leadership

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Senior or Lead role managing or mentoring junior developers.

Design Sensibility

  • Sharp eye for design and deep understanding of UI/UX principles.
  • Ability to translate high-fidelity designs into pixel-perfect, responsive reality, suggesting usability improvements.

WP Customization

  • Proven track record of creating and modifying custom WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Expert-level proficiency with ACF for structured data and custom admin interfaces.

Environment Mastery

  • Direct experience executing site changes through cPanel and FTP, comfortable managing files and databases manually.

Security Mindset

  • Deep knowledge of WordPress-specific security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.

Preferred Skills

  • Modern JavaScript: Experience building websites or components with React, Next.js, and similar technologies.
  • Hosting Mastery: Direct experience managing hosting environments via WHM.
  • SEO Acumen: Solid understanding of SEO best practices and their intersection with WordPress development.
  • Integration Expert: Experience building and managing API integrations to connect WordPress with the rest of the web.
  • Automation: Direct experience building and maintaining complex automations via Zapier, n8n, and similar automation platforms.
  • AI Tool Familiarity: Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development and productivity tools such as Cursor, Claude, Cowork, and GitHub Copilot.
