Role Summary: SEO-Focused WordPress Developer
As a WordPress Developer, you will own the ongoing management, updates, and optimization of our internal company website while also supporting client delivery projects. You will maintain a polished, high-performing digital presence reflecting our brand, manage WordPress core and plugin infrastructure, and occasionally contribute to client website builds. This remote contract position is ideal for a professional who prioritizes reliable systems, clear communication, and effectively balances maintenance tasks with project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Website Management (Primary)

  • Maintain WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates using disciplined change control and testing.
  • Implement security best practices: least-privilege access, secure admin setup, and monitored backups.
  • Monitor performance and Core Web Vitals; optimize images, caching, and scripts for fast load times.
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly, document root causes, and resolve bugs with minimal downtime.
  • Update content, landing pages, and conversions-focused layouts as directed by Revalot leadership.
  • Maintain clean site structure, redirects, metadata, and SEO fundamentals.

Theme & Infrastructure

  • Configure and customize themes, child themes, and page builders while ensuring maintainable codebase.
  • Install and configure vetted plugins for forms, analytics, security, backups, and integrations.
  • Create reusable components to reduce content update friction.

Client Project Support (Secondary)

  • Contribute to client website builds and landing pages as staffed for engagements.
  • Implement responsive layouts and perform QA across devices and browsers.
  • Apply SEO and accessibility best practices to client deliverables.
  • Maintain white-label standards to present deliverables as Revalot services (branding, documentation, communications aligned to Revalot identity).

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Track time accurately and maintain organized documentation for handoffs.
  • Communicate status and issues promptly; flag blockers and dependencies early.
  • Participate in check-ins and respond to feedback professionally.
  • Interact with SEO and Google Ads agencies, implementing required changes as per their instructions.

Typical Deliverables

  • Weekly/monthly internal website maintenance: updates, content changes, plugin/theme maintenance.
  • Performance monitoring and optimization reports (Core Web Vitals, load times).
  • Security and backup monitoring; documented security configurations.
  • Bug fixes and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Payment processor integration and testing (Clover, Worldline).
  • Occasional client site builds or page builds (as assigned to engagements).
  • Theme and plugin configuration documentation.
  • Admin handoff notes and update guidance.
  • White-label deliverables presented under Revalot branding and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of WordPress development experience (in-house, agency, or consulting).
  • Strong proficiency with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Experience implementing responsive builds and performing QA across devices and browsers.
  • Comfort working from a defined strategy and design direction, shipping on deadline with minimal rework.
  • Organized documentation habits, including accurate tracking of billable time and change notes.
  • Professional communication and a client-ready standard for delivery.
  • Experience integrating payment processors (Clover and/or Worldline) with WordPress sites.
  • Experience with domain setup for websites and email.
  • Experience with website and email migrations from existing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with WooCommerce, multilingual sites, and integrations (CRM, email, analytics, API).
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and experience customizing Flatsome's UX Builder and child themes.
  • Working knowledge of performance optimization and Core Web Vitals improvements.
  • Accessibility familiarity (WCAG basics) and experience fixing common accessibility issues.
  • Experience with managed WordPress hosting (for example: WP Engine, GoDaddy, etc.) and deployment workflows.
  • Familiarity with SEO tooling and analytics (GA4, GTM) and basic event tracking implementation.

Contract Expectations
