Web Growth Specialist/ 1 day ago
Quick Summary
Role Overview
Company: tbk
Location: London, Ontario, or remote anywhere in Canada
Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000 to $85,000
tbk is a 17-year-old digital agency based in London, Ontario, specializing in building brands, websites, and marketing programs for growth-oriented clients.
We lead with AI, leveraging Claude and proprietary multi-agent workflows to automate busywork, freeing our team for inventive, high-impact projects. Our expertise in AI also extends to helping clients integrate AI into their own organizations.
We are a small, senior team that thrives on exciting, fast-paced work in a collaborative environment.
The Role
We are seeking a curious technologist with a passion for tinkering and an AI-first mindset. This role is ideal for someone who has built websites, written code, managed projects, and provided customer support, even without being an expert in any single area. A love for technology, rapid learning ability, and a relentless problem-solving drive are key.
Your day might involve transforming a client's request into a clear plan, building web pages, debugging with AI assistance, or explaining technical changes to clients. If you enjoy variety, this role offers a dynamic mix of responsibilities.
You will drive web projects forward, taking ownership of significant portions of the work. This includes coordinating client requirements, design, development, QA, and launch. You'll get hands-on with WordPress and front-end development, and provide post-launch client support. You are the proactive individual who identifies and resolves project deviations.
AI is fundamental to our operations. You will use AI daily for drafting and reviewing code, converting client calls into tickets, writing documentation, and accelerating testing. Our entire agency, from web strategists building AI-powered wireframes to the marketing team using AI for research, content, and reporting, operates this way. We seek someone who naturally embraces these tools and is excited by new technological advancements. If you prefer to avoid AI, this role is not for you.
What You'll Own
- AI-first Workflow: Utilize Claude and our multi-agent workflows for planning, building, and documentation, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Websites: Build and update WordPress sites, handling content changes, page creation, and small feature development.
- Development: Write and edit HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP with AI support, and understand existing codebases.
- Project Coordination: Manage stand-ups, timelines, and dependencies to ensure seamless design, development, and QA processes.
- Requirements and Tickets: Translate client conversations into clear requirements and actionable backlog items.
- Client Support: Provide responsive support, troubleshoot issues, and explain technical concepts clearly, ensuring client satisfaction.
- QA and Testing: Conduct thorough quality assurance for your own work and others', leveraging AI tools for broader coverage.
- Curiosity in Action: Explore new tools and approaches, delving deep to understand and solve problems at their root.
Are You Our Person?
- Is AI an integral part of your daily work by choice?
- Do you get excited by new technology and eager to understand its workings?
- Have you built or managed websites, particularly in WordPress?
- Have you written code (scripts, tweaks, side projects) and wish to do more?
- Have you coordinated projects, managed backlogs, or kept teams on schedule?
- Have you provided customer or client support and enjoy helping people?
- Can you transform vague client requests into concrete plans?
- Do you enjoy a dynamic day mixing stand-ups, client calls, and hands-on building?
- Do you prefer fast-changing work over a narrow specialization?
- Do designers, developers, and clients enjoy collaborating with you?
- Are you early in your career (approximately 1 to 3 years) and ready for significant ownership?
If these resonate with you, we encourage you to connect with us.
The First Year, Roughly
- Weeks 1-2: Shadow projects, learn our stack (WordPress, Claude, multi-agent workflows), observe client calls, and handle initial small tickets.
- Weeks 3-4: Manage parts of daily coordination, address first client support requests, and ship initial website updates.
- Weeks 5-8: Become a regular voice in client conversations, balancing coordination, support, and building tasks, and performing QA on your own and others' work.
- 6 Months: Coordinate an end-to-end project, deliver client-facing work, and build at least one AI workflow that enhances team efficiency.
- 12 Months: Your judgment is trusted across the role. You actively choose to tackle larger, more complex problems.
The Perks
- A genuine, supportive, ego-free culture with dedicated colleagues.
- Work with an award-winning agency, trusted national and international clients, and opportunities for significant growth.
- Competitive salary: $65,000 to $85,000.
- Flexible work: London, Ontario, or remote anywhere in Canada.
- 4 Friday afternoons off during the summer.
- Early ownership and an AI-first technology stack that embraces innovation.
- Health and dental benefits, plus paid time off.
- Professional development budget for continuous learning.
- Access to the best AI tooling and a team with established AI-driven processes.
- Varied work, ensuring no two days are the same.
How to Apply
Demonstrate your thought process. Submit your resume and a brief note addressing three points:
- A time you transformed a vague request into a concrete outcome.
- Something you built with technology that you are proud of, and why (e.g., a website, script, automation, AI workflow).
- The last new tool or technology you explored in depth, and what you accomplished with it.
What Happens Next
If there's a match, we will proceed swiftly:
- Short introductory conversation
- Practical exercise (small, real-world, outcome-focused)
- Final conversation with leadership
