The Role
We are seeking a versatile web developer to redesign, enhance, and maintain the U.S. Global Business Council's digital platforms. Your primary mission will be to create a professional, informative, and user-friendly website that effectively communicates our initiatives, promotes our events, and provides value to our members. You will play a critical role in shaping how the global business community interacts with our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Redesign & Development: Lead the effort to enhance the design, functionality, and user experience of the USGBC website. Implement a modern, professional aesthetic that reflects the council's stature and global reach.
- Front-End & Back-End Development: Build and maintain a fully responsive website that performs flawlessly across all devices and browsers. Ensure intuitive navigation so visitors can easily find information on trade missions, policy briefs, and membership benefits.
- CMS Management: Administer and customize our Content Management System (CMS) to allow internal teams to independently update content, publish news and articles, and manage event listings.
- On-Page SEO Implementation: Optimize website structure, metadata, and content for search engines to increase visibility for key terms related to international trade, global business, and economic policy.
- Member Experience: Ensure the website effectively serves our member community, with clear calls-to-action for joining the council, registering for events, and accessing exclusive resources.
- Performance & Security: Monitor website speed and performance. Ensure the site is secure, regularly backed up, and protected against potential threats.
- Integration Support: Assist with integrating third-party tools for membership management, event registration, newsletter sign-ups, and payment processing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven web development experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing professional, content-driven websites (please provide links).
- Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
- CMS Expertise: Deep experience with leading CMS platforms (such as WordPress, Drupal, or Webflow), including custom theme development and plugin/module configuration.
- SEO Knowledge: Demonstrable experience implementing on-page and technical SEO best practices to improve search rankings and drive organic traffic.
- Responsive Design: Proven ability to build fully responsive websites that provide an optimal user experience on any device.
- Design Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to implement visually appealing, brand-consistent layouts.
- Problem-Solving & Communication: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a trade association, chamber of commerce, policy institute, or membership-based organization
- Familiarity with membership management systems, event registration platforms, and e-commerce functionality.
- Knowledge of international trade, economics, or global business affairs**.-
