About The Opportunity

We’re seeking a highly skilled, part-time Contract Web Developer to support our growing pipeline of client website projects. This flexible, remote role focuses on building, updating, and optimizing websites that are both visually compelling and strategically sound.

You’ll work closely with our strategy, content, and creative teams to translate brand strategy into high-performing websites across multiple client accounts. This is a flexible, remote role with consistent project work and the potential to grow into a long-term or expanded engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the development of new website designs, wireframes, and content structures.
  • Build and support new client websites from approved designs, wireframes, and content.
  • Collaborate with strategists, designers, and content leads to ensure sites align with brand positioning, messaging, and user experience goals.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, and SEO/GEO-friendly websites optimized for performance and conversion.
  • Implement and customize CMS-based sites (primarily WordPress), including themes, templates, and plugins.
  • Execute site updates, enhancements, and light troubleshooting across active client websites.
  • Ensure clean, maintainable code and adherence to best practices for security and performance.
  • Participate in periodic team check-in meetings to align on project timelines and priorities.
  • Provide clear estimates, timelines, and status updates to support efficient project management.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful developer who understands how websites function as a core marketing asset. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agency-style environment with multiple clients and shifting priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of professional web development experience.
  • Strong experience with WordPress development, including custom themes and page builders.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Experience translating design files into functional websites.
  • Solid understanding of technical SEO, site speed optimization, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Up to date on emerging AI / Generative Engine Optimization methods.
  • Familiarity with website hosting environments, domain management, and basic DNS configuration.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills in a remote team environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience with performance optimization tools and best practices.
  • Comfort collaborating with content strategists on SEO and site architecture.
  • Experienced with setup of analytics, tracking, and conversion optimization.
