Summary

We are seeking a skilled Web Developer for a contract role, specializing in creating and maintaining high-quality video game websites. Job Responsibilities

  • Migrate existing WordPress websites to new hosting platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and site integrity.
  • Update and maintain Sage WordPress starter themes from version 9 to version 11.
  • Develop and implement scalable, user-friendly, and accessible website features using WordPress.
  • Write clean, efficient PHP code for back-end development and customization.
  • Build responsive front-end interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Utilize WordPress core functions, filters, and actions to create custom functionality.
  • Manage build pipelines and automation processes using tools such as Webpack, NPM, and Yarn.
  • Conduct cross-browser and device testing to ensure consistent user experiences.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain version control using git.
  • Submit daily status updates and code through Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with designers and developers during planning, grooming sessions, and daily stand-ups.
  • Implement ongoing web updates and maintenance for multiple gaming websites.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Web Developer.
  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience migrating WordPress websites between hosting platforms.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience updating Sage WordPress starter theme versions (9 through 11).
  • 2 to 4 years working with build pipelines and automation tools such as Webpack, NPM, and Yarn.
  • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale WordPress sites (e.g., educational institutions, news organizations, high-traffic platforms).
  • Portfolio or work sample links showcasing previous WordPress development projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Advanced PHP back-end development.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Deep knowledge of WordPress core functions, filters, and actions.
  • Experience with SASS preprocessor.
  • Expertise in Bootstrap CSS Framework.
  • Strong understanding of build automation tools including Webpack, NPM, and Yarn.
  • Version control management using git.
  • Cross-browser and device testing capabilities.
  • Problem-solving and debugging abilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
