Web Developer (SDE1)

As a Web Developer (SDE1) at BisectHosting, you will contribute to building and improving customer-facing and internal web applications across our hosting platform.

This role is primarily frontend-focused, utilizing React and Nuxt/Vue, while also involving contributions to backend development in PHP Laravel. You will work from defined requirements, navigating incomplete details, asking pertinent questions, and progressing through reasonable ambiguity with support from senior engineers.

What you'll work on:

• Build and enhance customer-facing experiences across marketing sites, ecommerce flows, and checkout funnels.
• Develop internal administration systems and tools for operating BisectHosting's platform.
• Create responsive interfaces using React and Nuxt/Vue.
• Develop and integrate backend functionality using PHP Laravel.
• Contribute to growth engineering initiatives spanning acquisition, conversion, retention, and ecommerce.
• Implement experiments using A/B testing and experimentation platforms.
• Build reusable components and frontend patterns across our web properties.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, analytics platforms, and third-party services.
• Improve page performance, usability, accessibility, and conversion experiences.
• Debug and resolve issues across the frontend and backend stack.
• Work effectively with incomplete or ambiguous requirements, exercising good judgment and collaborating with the team for clarification.

What we're looking for:

• 1–3 years of professional web development experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React, Vue, or Nuxt.
• Experience developing backend applications and APIs using PHP Laravel.
• Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern frontend development principles.
• Experience consuming and working with REST APIs.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Familiarity with Git and standard development workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across frontend, backend, browser, and API layers.
• Attention to UI quality and the ability to translate designs into polished web experiences.
• Comfortable working with experimentation, analytics, and data to evaluate changes.
• Ability to make progress when requirements are incomplete or ambiguous, while knowing when to ask for clarification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with ecommerce, checkout, or subscription flows.
• Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms.
• Familiarity with product analytics, event tracking, and conversion funnels.
• Experience with component libraries or design systems.
• Experience optimizing Core Web Vitals and frontend performance.
• Familiarity with SEO and marketing-site development.
• Experience writing automated frontend or backend tests.
• Interest in gaming and server infrastructure.
