We are seeking an experienced Web Developer to take ownership of a network of bespoke websites and a custom-built internal CRM system within the UK double glazing and home-improvement sector. This is a non-template-based role where you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving digital platforms that directly support sales, operations, and customer experience.
The Role
You will work closely with the Director to design, build, and maintain a suite of bespoke websites and the in-house CRM platform. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and improving real systems that are actively used every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop bespoke, high-quality websites and the custom-built internal CRM system.
- Manage a network of websites, ensuring consistency, performance, and scalability.
- Build and maintain shopping cart and checkout functionality for e-commerce operations.
- Improve and maintain existing projects as they evolve.
- Collaborate directly with the Director on technical feasibility and architectural decisions.
- Support technical SEO initiatives, including page speed optimization, schema implementation, site structure, and metadata management.
- Assist with Google product listings, keyword optimization, and buyer-journey improvements.
- Ensure all websites are fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Manage security protocols, backups, updates, and hosting environments (e.g., cPanel).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Design and maintain MySQL relational databases.
- Contribute technical and creative ideas to improve systems and workflows.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong commercial experience developing and maintaining bespoke websites.
- Advanced knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience using Bootstrap.
- Experience with custom CRM or internal business systems.
- Experience building or maintaining e-commerce functionality.
- Strong understanding of MySQL and relational database design.
- Familiarity with hosting environments such as cPanel.
- Good working knowledge of technical SEO best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and pride in delivering clean, reliable solutions.

We design and supply bespoke products to both trade and retail customers through a network of specialist websites. All of our platforms are built and maintained in-house, including our customer-facing websites and a bespoke internal CRM system that supports order management, customer communication, and operational workflows.
